with a much higher take up extra sponsorship catering retail any increase in receipt would be minimal as the club must also think because we continue with it. And that’s what counts isn’t it

Heres a simple one. Every pound we take through the tills via food and drink and merchandise, an outside company takes a slice of that pound. Also, for every shirt and top sold only a small percentage of that is actual profit. Now, every pound added to the cost of a season ticket is a pound into the clubs coffers, no one takes a chunk out of it. See, as a club we'd be better off if season tickets were made £200 and because of that extra 50 quid no one buys a shirt. Money through the turnstiles is more important than money spent in the concourse or club shop.

Its hard work but i'll keep knocking on the door. We have a forward thinking CEO now that Captain Admin has gone, i'd expect him to be looking at maximising all revenue streams and that should include season ticket prices. Obviously not at this very moment with covid around, but covid won't be around forever.

And every fan not renewing deletes from that total. These figures must be taken into account by the club and they continue with affordable football

There is merit on both sides we have discussed the situation many times do the club put up prices and possibly get a lower take up, or keep them low and make the difference up by generating money from other sources, programs, food, drink, merchandise, I'm sure it wont be the last time this situation is debated.
Will what we have been through with regards Covid have an effect going forward, I'd suggest most who post on here just want to get back to watching live games, I'm not sure that will apply to all, who knows I personally would be happy to pay more if the product was good (that's a lie really I'd go whatever it cost) the club missed the opportunity after our Wembley appearance, a price increase would have been positive all round, fans expecting another push for promotion with the increase going partly to better players etc but unfortunately the powers that be at the time thought differently.

    https://www.statista.com/statistics/538451/cheapest-season-ticket-prices-league-two-by-club-england-uk/

The data here is 4 years old, and even by those standards our ST prices would by nearly 25% cheaper than anything any other club in the league had. There’s no reason why our prices should be significantly cheaper than every other club in the league. Reasonable pricing and low concessions to make football for families accessible is a good idea. But we’re cutting our legs from underneath ourtselves.

In the words of Ryan Sparks....

And what is the plan for 2021/22 season ticket prices? “I don’t intend for any major price hikes, I want to make it as accessible as possible for people to come and watch us, because I can imagine what people have been through the last 12 months is far worse than what we’ve been through. We’ll be looking at payment plans and credit for season tickets. We’re trying to support people the best we can.”

I don't intend for any major price hikes... That implies an increase in season ticket prices IMO.

You do understand Bradford City is first and foemost a business don't you? Please tell me you realise that. Sustainable and affordable are not exclusive, as i keep telling you we did not drop prices to make football affordable. And now we have a forward thinking CEO rather than a regressive one he has to realise that prices will in the future have to go up. Because every year the cost of living goes up with inflation. In my line of business nothing has gone down in the last decade, only up. Labour costs, materials, accountants fees. And thats every single year. As my lad , who is studying economics, said our tickets are actually less than the £150 we charged years ago. And as i've said money through the turnstiles is more profitbable than money in the shop.

Sparks ain't no mug, he knows for this club to push forward every revenue stream will have to rise, even if its in line with inflation.

They used to disagree. We have a new sheriff in town, one with more ambition in his left testicle than the other one had. And he's gonna run it like a proper business.

The thing you and I don’t know is how much take up would reduce the take up. the gates we attract makes us much more attractive to sponsors. It’s pointless arguing anyway the club are continuing with it for next season at least

I wouldn't expect the club to change anything while we're 5th from bottom of the entire football league. You do understand costs have to go though don't you? Because as BantamDave has pointed out, the cost of living goes up. The turnstile operators, the groundsmen, the people in the office, subcontractors, electricity, maintenance etc, all these cost see incremental rises. and it ain't gonna be paid with magic beans.
