Wrong again Fordy, how tedious it must be for you.

PP leaving had nothing to do with facilities or vision, it was one factor and one alone - Rahic. I live near PP and see him from time to time, indeed 2 Sunderland Board Meeting were held in the office suite next to mine during the summer, we talk.
About two months after he left PP told me after his first meeting with Rahic he told his wife he thought the guy was going to be trouble. After his second meeting he decided Rahic was "..a certifiable nut job" and left, very fortunately to be immediately offered the Bolton job. We all know what followed.

So, Fordy, please check facts rather than speculating which worries me, especially when you apparently don't know the names of our current management team (your post 1254 I think on this thread), it's Conor not Connors.

I'll tell you who is bluster and words! Some can never accept any positive news coming out of the club - to be honest Wetherby is a bit closer to what is happening than the rest of us on here so I for one am pleased to get some updates

Well he still would have met with Rupp and Edin.

Credit to him for seeing Edin for what he is quickly. I still points to my worry that Rupp doesn't see things quickly and makes bad decision after bad decision hence why this club is going backwards. He's a smart man. Maybe, it's because he isn't involved as much as he should be. I don't know but it's just not good enough.

Would you argue that we haven't gone backwards?

Yes possibly @Park bantam@Park bantam. This isn't a challenge on Mr Owen but Mr Rupp. We are a regressive club and as the owner, I would (amongst all other plans), know what the plan looks like.

When you speak of harsh, don't forget that the tenure of Rupp has been harsh on the fans (except year 1).

Fair retort. In my world, I do accept positive news.
I acknowledge what Mr Owen has posted. Let's hear from the owner, if we may?

Does Hurst have a usual assistant?

Just wondering who will be coming with him and what kind of team he'll have around him versus what the club wants in respect to the longer term focus we seem to be being told we're looking at.

Nah, he would just blame Rupp and/ or Sparks for appointing a manager who has been sacked so many times.

And with that simple direct question @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler fails to answer!

Have we gone backwards under Rupp? Yes or No? Simple question.

    He won't be offended.

Honestly, the club won't move forward until it can be honest with itself. We can all sit here blame Edin, blame covid. The issue is we as a club are FAILING on and off the pitch.

We don't have an identity on and off the pitch!

    I await your honest answer.

Chris Doig has been Paul Hurst’s Assistant at Grimsby, Shrewsbury & Ipswich
Can expect him to be joining if Hurst signs on

Just like you failed to answer me yesterday, Fordy. You and your vacuous comments need to take a break.

You make a fair point here. Parky could see Rahic for what he was, yet Rupp took over 2 years.

    Look, it's simple isn't it.

We can all blame Edin but hes gone and yes the club is trying to repair itself but when I see success I will praise. The new players tunnel - GREAT! Give food to kids for free - BLOODY AMAZING!

However, off the field a bloody shambles. On the field a bloody shambles.

Luckily, we won't go down and fans won't be running on the pitch like we have won the league.

Fans are waking up now and demanding more from the club. Soundbites are not enough!

Because Rahic was a very good con-man, and fed Rupp lies even convincing Rupp our Wembley appearance was his doing and actually got Rupp to back him when he asked Stuart to resign, telling Rupp there would be a reaction from fans but all football fans were fickle.
