It won't be woodgate his first stint was poor at 'boro and more importantly has no experience of L2. Hurst and Mcgreal have both of these things.

It all depends mate on who is sending that message out!

If it Sparks then we are truly FECKED! Sparks needs to be NOWHERE near any footballing decision! NOWHERE! That's not a dig at Sparks but same applied to Edin, Rhodes or any other CEO or Owner! If Sparks wants to play football manager and not concentrate on off the pitch issues only then he has to go!

I said to be the best you need to learn from the best! I remember when Liverpool's new owners came in talked about moneyball and all this nonsense. The signings were about putting money first. YOU CAN'T BE SUCCESSFUL IN FOOTBALL PUTTING MONEY FIRST! THE RHODES METHOD WAS UTTER BULLSH*T! BULLSH*T A METHOD THAT FAILS! This club is in div 2 mainly because it puts money first rather than the game.

Anyway, to cut the story short Kenny came in to Liverpool said can't run this way. Then Rodgers was hired on style of play and the rest is how it is now. Its about the style of play. Same applies to Man City, Brentford and most other teams that do well.

The INDENTITY is the style of play. Football is simple. If you are good enough then you are old enough. It shouldn't be we will put young players in for the hell of it. That makes no sense! Yes, you can't no sign players over 30 or offer 2 -3 year deals for players 30 plus I get that.

What makes sense is getting all age set ups to play the way the 1st team do.

At the end of the season the likes of Salford, Bolton will be up there. Why because they put football first! Until we put football 1st then we will get NOWHERE!!

If we are hiring a manager for youth then Sparks might as well say Rupp isn't backing the club because he isn't fooling anyone that knows about the game.

One of the reasons I made this suggestion is like everyone else I think it's REALLY important we get the next appointment right, we've made too many wrong decisions in recent years. If the club are still undecided I would ask Trueman and Conners to do it until the of the season and see if Terry Dolan would take on the DOF role. If we have cash like we are told we have he would identify the right players to sign.
That gives us time to make the right appointment.

    I would back that.

Makes sense! Doesn't have to be Terry Dolan as DOF but I get your point.

We won't be going down and Trueman and Conners can do the job until the end of the year if we are not sure who to hire. We can't rush this and gladly we haven't but we have to get it right.

To be honest Fordy I don't think the lad wants to get involved in the footy side of things other than like us he wants to get the appointment right. I think he's bright enough to know that his job is to create the working conditions for the manager if he is to be a successful CEO.

From what I hear, he is an individual who has an exceptionally strong opinion on how good he is. A friend of mine was at a Sporting Dinner, which Grayson also attended with his side kick. Grayson was really knocking City at that stage, although the ‘former owner’ was still around.
He apparently likes a drink, and even more so does his ‘assistant’. Remember he is a ‘Championship’ manager, who after City has had further spell in management at Blackpool, until he was sacked.

    Cheers IB.

Opinions on these boards have cast shadows on what Grayson has stated from bitter, busted, whinger to a clown.
I wonder if footballers and within their circles have similar thoughts? Didn't McCall say he tried to get 4 strikers in? Look at the squad that was assembled this season. Through choice or is this football club handicapped by its structures and its reputation. Doyle, Vaughan?

Grayson added: “Ultimately, though, it doesn’t matter how big a club you are. You’ve got to have a solid structure and a long-term strategy if you want to be successful.”

How many have said, as supporters, we need a plan. Yet Grayson, whom has worked inside the club, is given the cold shoulder. Why?

I feel this is a damning article about our club.

The reason I suggested Dolan is that he is respected in the game, knows the issues to club has had in recent years, knows the expectations of us lot but most importantly he keeps up to date with the modern game and the players that are around. On top of that he would probably be prepared to do it on a short term basis.

Again I have heard a similar story about his behaviour, when someone asked him for directions, when they were trying to find an address in the village. They innocently asked him for help! No one needs to behave in that way.

    Yeah, fair enough.

Now either Mr Grayson is being mischievous or where their is smoke......

If he is being mischievous, what exactly does he gain?

I think he might be a little bitter after some of the things that were said about him at the time

    He's right though. Isn't he?

Something isn't right at the club. It's a massively failing club that is going backwards. It make poor excuses for everything.

Ask about a training ground or anything. It has no long term version.

Parky was off as soon as he could. Look Grayson was a rubbish manager but hes right with this one.

Bigrod, I just don't get what he aims to achieve from this article unless he is sounding some truths?

And what he states, seems to have substance. A failing club, 4 points off the bottom of the league with a poorly assembled squad.

There you go again on about training ground. Most teams rent their facility as we do and ours is very good for this level

Maybe. But the failings of this club are copious over the last 3 years. From managers to players

He's talking about his 4 months at the club, from 3 years ago.

When Edin was here he was probably spot on.

We're a club that has probably neglected the structure. We seem to have a Manager & Assistant and everything else goes into the first team.

The salary cap has halted that approach as you can't spend more on wages than other clubs.

We are playing catch up now on the other aspects - Recruitment, Analysis, Youth, Backroom Staff etc. That's where we have to get an advantage now to progress.

He's a Manager out of work. He needs to paint a picture that he didn't fail in the job.

He's done nothing in his last two jobs so will be struggling for his next one.

You miss the point. It's about owning something. It's about making sure you increase the value of the club.

    Grayson called it out.
    Warnock called it out.

    It's not good enough! IT'S A SCHOOL!
