Ryan Sparks

I'm not extolling the virtues of Mr FGR, but you cannot deny they have the strongest identity in the EFL right now. You know what that club is about, so do I. There football is dreadful, from what I've seen, but little they do on or off the pitch is a big surprise.

Sparks can want to put this team in place, but is he experienced in hiring excellent football managers? Recruitment specialists? director of Football's? Chief scouts? Does he know how the youth team needs tweaking to be more effective (they can churn out defenders and have done for years - any other positions need focus??)?

All questions any CEO should be able to answer.

I'm glad he's got a plan - but plans aren't success. There is so much that needs to happen, I wouldn't expect Brady to have gone into Birmingham and done all that, would you?

He has no experience whatsover in football negotiations such as manager recruitment. Lets call it a learning curve, not ideal when you're joint second bottom with no manager.

 

Let’s get the priorities sorted first. If we build a new training complex and stadium and we drop out fo the football league what’s the point.
He wants to sort the behind the scenes team out and get a decent manager in to compliment them to steer us to safety. That’s priority one

I suggest you look a little deeper.

The FGR philosophy involves owning a self sufficient stadium, that they own, and has proven a commercial gold mine. Premier League footballers are investing in the club, and their partners are blue chip.

I know you don't really care, though, just so long as you can pretend that for some reason Ryan is going to strike it lucky first time with some sort of Midas-like touch.

This is not an attack on Ryan, either - rather this confused mess we call a club.

And don't say support the club, because the best thing anyone can do to support this club is get us a new owner and stop pretending it's all hunky dory.

But I do support Ryan, 100 percent. But I also acknowledge he should not be being asked to build ab entire team around himself.

It's me and other negative fans...

The club have had years to replace Rahic with a proper DoF and/or CEO with experience. Both is fine. They've had years to put a football-oriented team in place, to make sure transitions are smooth and purposeful.

Instead, we've wasted those years, fallen down the leagues, appointed a young CEO and said 'good luck, do what you need'.

If you think that's acceptable, well... Don't cry if it fails.

 

How is it wrong? Tell me when he has entered into negotiation with a football manager before and who that manager was? And don't say Stuart McCall. I'll wait.
