It would be nice to know the 'reasons'.

 

Wasn’t the sponsorship deal that was ‘lost’ actually the contract for the kiosks rather than sponsorship? Tiffin Sandwiches? If so if the kiosks are open next season I’m guessing they have signed with someone else.

Please don’t confuse my post as a dig or slur against you. It was aimed more against those that constantly claim that the negative rumblings from inside the club are disgruntled ex-employees. My comment was more of a quip to them than anything factual.

That said, I did (wrongly, as it turns out) believed it was you that had divulged the loss of the sponsorship deal, after Edin had damaged the good work set up for James. For that, I apologise for the inaccuracy.

EDIT- I have just re-read the original comment (in the James Mason thread), where you simply said we had lost a 7-figure sponsorship deal and that it wasn’t Mason’s fault. Everything said after that was by others, that claimed if it wasn’t James, it must have been Edin.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment of your post, this comment is just plain stupid.

He’s hardly going to say his best years are behind him but he wants to come from here for one last pay-day (not that I’m saying that’s what he’s doing)..!

All players big themselves up. The fact is, Wright has played in the Championship but in more recent seasons has been in League1. He had 1 season where his goals return was very good. Media claimed it was a change to an attacking midfielder position, but the player himself dismissed this and just said he had a licence to get forward more.

Despite enjoying that season, he still left the club to sign for Southend and wasn’t given the same licence. As a result, his goals dried up and he ended up in and out of a bang average team.

Everything else is subjective or rumour

I was reading an online article about him this morning, he seemed to be well thought of at Palace and West Brom, before a fallout with Megson

I just remembered the praise given to James Mason and that he was doing a great job with our existing sponsors, in getting them not to quit, or even extend deals.
Roger then added that James had set up a 7-figure ‘deal’, only for it to be lost.

I assumed that, as the sentence prior to this comment was about sponsorship deals, this was one too.

Tagging both the paper and the journalist responsible, is “getting involved”. As was said previously, they could have dismissed the story without even lowering themselves to name those involved.
