The old let's wait 10 games.

Last season even though we were doing well in the first 10 games it was crystal clear that the squad and signings made were poor.

The signings so far have been average.

Our owners are killing the club but yeah let's all live in hope.

Josh Wright is an experienced League One player, perfect for the Gillingham's and Southend's of the world, but he actually has quite a bit of Championship experience, so that's fine. A reasonable signing, who will hopefully impress. Not dissimilar to a Parky signing, really.

The two young uns we've signed, well, god knows. One is a highly rated lad from United (been there before with nothing to show for it), and the other is an 18 year old who is extremely unlikely to factor in the first team, so pretty much irrelevant.

Nothing to get excited about, perhaps (apart from fantasies about signing the next Neville), but no evidence we've gone backwards thus far either.

What bothers me is the lack of clarity about what we're going for. We've replaced Law with Wright - what's the difference? They had identical seasons at different clubs, with both suffering from playing in weird positions, and then generally not impressing. We've seemingly replaced McMahon with a young lad, but McMahon at times was our only player with any gamesmanship given his experience... and he provided our assists... but given that this lad is a massive question mark, who knows, maybe he's better?

What I would say is I'd rather have kept a known quantity like McMahon that gone all out for a 'possible' good signing - but then if Parky would have done it, I would have backed it. And there's no chance on earth Parky let's McMahon go and signs a guy who's played twice.

Wouldn't say they"re panicking yet but their blood pressure must be climbing. I just wonder what effect this is having on Gregg's morale, he must really be feeling the strain and frustration right now. Board members must also be a little concerned with the protracted search. I worry more about sponsorship deals that may perish through unfavourable publicity. The only person who knows what really is going on is Edin and he ain't saying. Just don't want this to damage the Club or it's image above all else.

Aren’t all signings possibly a good signing?

I’d have got rid of the lot personally after that debacle from Christmas onwards last season

Well some signings might work out (a Carlisle reject in Nahki Wells signed more in hope than expectation), while others might not (Eddie Johnson or Isaiah Rankin, both lauded as prospects with significant investment), but in the middle ground there is plenty of scope for an astute scout or manager to get his work spot on.

Ultimately, judging signings ahead of the actual proof is risky; but once you have the measure of the man (or men) signing them, you can usually start to see trends and patterns.

I'd say letting Sykes-Kenworthy replace the garbage Sattelmaier and Raeder is fine; letting Riley replace McMahon is an enormous risk, and one I'm not at all convinced our leadership team is qualified to make, given the only good young signing made in the last 24 months has been Tyrell Robinson.

Do you really think that the timing of Stewart’s appointment was plannned? My view was that it was a desperate last minute knee jerk move, which for the first 18 months, perhaps surpassed the owners expectations.

I said next Friday, which is 15th June, is getting to the buffers!

I don't really know why anyone wouldn't be a bit concerned about the situation our club is in right now. They've also conveniently forgotton the relegation form we had running from last season into this prolongued managerless spell. If we'd finished last season in ok shape, i'd probably give them more leeway. But, we have a lot to sort our for next season with our team. And we've not even got a boss yet. I think some people are underestimating the size of the job on, at City. I really hope the faith they have in the owners is proven to be justified.

The difference being that McCall came in on 20 June and had the core of his squad already on place. The likes of McArdle. Darby, Mezza, Marshall, McMahon, Hanson & Morais were good L1 players and McCall just needed to add quality around them.

The new HC doesn’t have a starting squad as good as that

Didn’t someone connected to the club claim we have lost a 7-figure sponsorship deal? Wasn’t it @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler who said that due to influences from Edin, we lost the deal?

Suppose that’s something else we should “thank” Edin for. Or are we going to claim that @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler only said this because he’s a “disgruntled ex-employee”???

He's started one game. How can he be a good signing at this stage?

Lot's of potential. Could end up being a brilliant signing but you couldn't call it a good signing at the moment.

Robinson was a good signing as he's competing for a first team place already.

    'What's the difference?'

I expect both Law and McMahon's replacements are being paid less in wages. Quality wise, we'll have to wait and see.
