if McCall wants to play a certain system he should sign players for that system - he shouldn't signs players and then ask them to do things that they can't.

I think that was the first time he played that formation this season, Stuart obviously thought they were capable or why would he chose that system to counter Harrogate, he said in his post match interview the performance was no better than a 5 out of 10 performance, I'd go with that the PLAYERS didn't perform on the night and as has been said Weaver obviously did his home work on us and his players delivered, not difficult to understand.

McCall sets his team up, McCall delivers the instructions on how to play, McCall is responsible for getting the team going before and at half time. if that performance was a one off it could be excused but we've been dire since February. when was the last time we dominated a team like Harrogate did last night? or had 25 shots at goal away from home? stop making excuses for him.

Dont understand what you mean about Harrogate coming from an actual place?. Where do you think Accrington come from?

 

What a radical idea. A manager has a preference for say, 4-4-2. Needs a left winger and a central midfielder so goes to the CEO and they relay this information to the scouts to to look out for players available in this position. Instead, last night we had two or three players out of position due to bringing in players with no real plan as to why you've brought them in. This idea that you can sign a player and expect him to be effective in different position within different formations is ludicrous. Look for a system and buy players to fit it.

 

This is one of my gripes about McCall.

You say he picked a formation to counter Harrogate, why?. Why can he not pick a formation to suit us and let the opposition worry about us instead?. It does my head in all this too much respect and fear of other teams. I mean this as no disrespect to Harrogate, but come on, we weren't going to Old Trafford or Anfield and trying to nullify their threat. Dear me.

 

Just listened to the after match Radio Leeds interview and I cant recall him saying we set up to counter Harrogate, more he expected the full backs to push on and cause them problems but they didn't. Hung Woods and French out to dry really.
