    Do you not understand stuff?

Blaming the public! Come on! This isn't rocket science here.

"If you want a test you can have a test" - Now it's "Only get a test if you have symptoms"
None of the lockdown measures have worked because guess what? Lockdown is only a pause.

Look, I can't be bothered. If you want to be an idiot then carry on but I think the British public have done very well following the rules while the government has failed the country.

Oh by the way this is a government that hasn't been on GMB, Channel 4, Newsnight or any other programme they feel that tough questions will be asked for over 160 days because they want suckers to believe that it's not their fault..This government is a bunch of cowards...Utter disgrace to the British public!

To be honest I think you always needed symptoms to officially get a test but it's irrelevant to the conversation.

Problem for your point of view is that in simple terms it's people spreading the virus and the post earlier was about how people and companies are not abiding by or enforcing social distancing so how can the expectation be that less restrictions would be a response to that.

Mate, it all started with Supermarkets. Supermarkets stayed open said they will do that and the other but the government didn't make sure the measures were strict enough. The supermarkets played the game then a few weeks after lockdown it was like a normal Saturday shopping. The government turned a blind eye.

However, getting this back to football. The clubs have done all that's been asked and Bradford City were not even going to sell food etc. It's a case of go to your seat and stay in it!

It's not Bradford City's fault or any football club that the government has failed in it's testing.
It's not Bradford City's fault that the government can't even come up with a solution to get fans back in.

Anyway, you live you life in box if you want to mate but I am cracking on with mine. I have had a enough of these rules that are getting us nowhere.

Fans need to be allowed back in. If I go to the gym like I will be shortly then that's my decision! It's time to let people decide how we want to like now.

I wrote this season off before it started regarding attending live.

However, Fordy's nonsense that only people with a BD postcode will eventually be able to attend doesn't make sense. That would mean someone living in Settle would be allowed, but not you living up the road in Rawdon

It's not nonsense mate. It's a suggestion that's being made to the government and rightly so.

Why rightly so, what sense does it make to suggest bantamshell could not attend, yet someone in Settle could attend?

I would agree with your last point if people showed any common sense at all. No country wants to let this get out of control so you're living in a dream world if you think there will be no restrictions in place while it's still spreading like mad. That's not an individual decision to make it's a societal one.

I'm not in a box by any means, just came back from Spain on Sunday so I'm trying to be as normal as possible even though I'm now having to isolate. I recognise there has to be a balance in what we do so I'm happy to do that even if I don't particularly agree. The problem is that anybody pushing for the grounds to open isn't taking into account that there is a trade off so it's just an unthinking free for all or an idealistic idea that everyone will go an sit politely 2m away from everyone when the signs from non-league is that they won't.

The government have preferred using council areas to postcode so it would be strange for them to go with this, if it is restricted it is more likely to be by council area

Open letter to fans from Premier League, FA and EFL

The Premier League, FA and EFL today jointly published the following open letter to football supporters.

The Premier League, EFL, The FA, Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship want to assure all fans that together we are fully committed to your safe return to football grounds as soon as possible.

The health of the nation remains our overriding priority, and for many months we have been working with experts to make our grounds as safe as, if not safer than, any other public activity currently allowed. And we are consulting with the Football Supporters’ Association to keep supporters updated every step of the way.

We know attendance at matches can play a positive role in people’s lives during these challenging times. And the past few months have shown how clubs can still feel the support of their fans. Even when you have been unable to get together, you and your clubs have found ways to make a difference in your communities, with clubs delivering food parcels, taking part in phone calls and online conversations with fans, the elderly and vulnerable and moving services and programmes online to make a difference in unprecedented and challenging circumstances.

But we all know football is not the same without fans. Every player and manager is missing the direct connection with you and the impact that you have on our games.

With the EFL, Premier League, Women’s Super League and Women’s Championship already staging 11 successful test events recently, we have demonstrated that we can deliver matches safely. The sooner we can return, the sooner we can reunite communities and support local jobs, livelihoods, regional businesses and also the national economy.

We will continue to urge government to allow us to return fans safely to stadiums. It is positive progress that major arts and music venues have been told they can run socially-distanced events indoors. And now football should be allowed to do the same - in highly regulated and stewarded outdoor environments.

Additionally, representatives from football are active members of the government's Sports Technology and Innovation Group, as well as being involved with its ‘Moonshot’ mass-testing project to open up the economy. And in light of the postponement of test events we will intensify our efforts to pioneer new approaches - working with epidemiologists, scientists and medical experts in areas such as public health, clinical processes and occupational hygiene. This will make sure stadiums are COVID-safe by considering best practice screening and hygiene methods to ensure that fans and the general public will be safe and drive the government's sporting plans to move faster.

Stadium environments can be modified and carefully managed. Measures could include screening spectators before they enter the ground, installing temperature checks, requiring masks to be worn, one-way systems and providing a code of conduct for all those attending on a matchday. This will all be bolstered by deep-cleaning practices to help further reduce the risk of virus transmission.

Clubs want to be pro-active on this matter and willing to consider measures both in the stadium and on the approach that will allay any concerns as to fans’ safety. From a travel perspective, clubs will work closely with experts and local authorities to model solutions relevant for each stadium to ease pressure on public transport, while extra parking facilities could be available so a greater proportion of you can travel by private car or bicycle.

We are determined to identify a path forward with government. We need clarity for our clubs and for you as supporters as to what the roadmap for change in this area looks like. We all know why caution is needed, and we ask government for consistency in their policy so sport is treated as fairly as other activities currently allowed to welcome spectators.

So, we will continue to urge the relevant authorities to let us, together, use innovative ways to bring fans safely back into football grounds, starting with a return of the test event programme. If we do so, then the benefits will be felt not just by fans but throughout society and the economy.

Richard Masters, Premier League chief executive

    David Baldwin, EFL chief executive

    Mark Bullingham, FA chief executive

Kelly Simmons, FA director of women's professional game

No, Bradford City fan. I am still awaiting @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler letter to see what Bradford City have to say for themselves and this subject.

However, you might have failed to notice that it's a letter to the fans from all the bodies. I came across it on an extremely good football site.

The open letter to fans from the EFL etc which you've just posted makes no reference to what you explained on here yesterday . It's 'tomorrow' now. Has the Govt now been informed of the clubs' intentions about admitting only 'local' fans to the grounds or not? I must have missed it.

Was on the WHU site about 5pm and is the lead story, unlike LFC who consider Shaqiri testing positive in Switzerland and LFC Ladies training pics
