The are doing poorly as they have had to cut their cloth accordingly to repay a large chunk of the debt that was due just after relegation with more still due

Debt to an owner is better as they are less likely to call it in or more likely to reschedule it

Depending on the buyers motives and capability, and subject to a fair purchase price of course, I still think we're a hugely attractive club. We've no debt to take on and our running costs arent huge. We have no real assets but our lease costs are low when you consider that we play in a largely championship ready stadium.

The narrative that we just want it cheap because we're an impoverished northern city is massively overblown. Give this city a modern, ambitious plan to buy into and watch it take off. Look at how other clubs have been transformed. What is Bradford, the 7th, 8th, 9th biggest city in the country? This place could be so much different. For someone who wants a challenge, and has the money, and access to others with money, this place is primed for take off. It really is. As a fanbase we're so lacking and limited in our thinking of what we could be. 20m, properly invested could get us to the championship, with 25k fans there every week. From there, anything can happen. And Jenkins is a football man.

I don't see how its ant different to be honest. If anything a loan to a chairman could be recalled far sooner than say a structured debt with a bank.

Again I agree largely with what you are saying but our lease costs aren't cheap i don't believe. The stadium is also in need of a massive amount of TLC. It needs a lot of money spending on it before it was Championship quality.
It doesn't matter about how much money they have when it comes to signing players, we are on a level playing field with everyone else. We can't attract players with £££.
We would only get 25000 fans in the championship if they were still £150. They wouldn't be.

The rental cost on VP is actually on a par or cheaper with others that rent their stadium of a third party company. The issue as you say is the state of the ground.

Again, I dont see the issue. Their debt level is higher than the championship average but they're in receipt of PL parachute payments. They're able to not only service that debt, but have a plan to clear it within 3 years. It's not restricting their ability to compete at the championship level. They look a well run club to me, and I'd swap our respective positions in a heartbeat, debt and all.

Same level of recruitment? What about transfer fees? There is no limit there as long as it fits in with turnover so some clubs have advantages over others.

@Fordy117@Fordy117 is constantly saying the current owner has and is loaning the club money so from his suggestions we probably have a couple of million debt

Not sure as I posted he's a good businessman, he certainly got conned by Rahic.

    Think it was around 1-1.5m.

    Yes, we are in debt.

Des Hamilton was Kenny Dalglish's first major signing at Newcastle, I believe the transfer fee we got for Des is still a joint clubs record as we got around the same fee from Newcastle for Andy O'Brien.

They’re cheap in relation to the standard of ground, and in the context of having a championship ready ground without the absolute need for a multimillion pound new stadium. I agree, it does need some investment, but if you compare it to the sort of stadium that some (Newish) championship Clubs have had - such as Brentford, Luton, even Bournemouth, its not a major issue.

I completely disagree with your point on cheap tickets. I think its become a myth that feeds itself. We’ve just sold 9k season tickets, in League 2, with the prospect of no games being played in front of fans for much of the season, or even the season itself not completing. Give this city and viable championship side, and we’ll fill the ground whilst paying the going rate.

You think we will sell 15000 season tickets at around £300?
