this is getting ridiculous now - it's got to be sorted this week surely.

 

Exactly with amount of managers on the market it.could be Christmas before we appoint one.

 

That's whats worrying me it could be a chief clown we get :bookworm:

Better to take our time and make the right decision rather than, as the old saying goes, marry in haste, repent at leisure.

Look at the debacle with the last full time appointment. They rushed into it and appointed someone who did not have the necessary skills to implement the plan and did not buy into the philosophy. If they had taken time to REALLY think through their first managerial appointment they would have run as fast as they could from McC....., ooops nearly said the name again

 

Looks like Barnsley going down the route of appointing German coach. Daniel Stendal set to be appointed within next 48 hrs apparently

 

It's called 'pin the tail on the Donkey' (desperation), or just simply 'no bloody idea' (clueless) !

 

Page 136. Things aren't going quite as well as we'd hoped.

After nearly five weeks searching you have to be at a point where you know who you want and you appoint them, or you admit you were looking at the wrong role for the available people and adjust your job spec or expectations. At some point you have to say this is a critical role in the organisation we can’t continue without it.

 

Can't see any manager worth his salt viewing this as a long-term appointment, seeing what's already gone on before. Sure some potential candidates will have sounded Grayson out first.

It is clearly a critical role. I don't think that actually need saying did it?

They may well have adjusted their search criteria...They don't have to tell us.

They are not doing this on purpose! They are looking to get the best fit for BCFC and their vision for how it will be run.

It's their club. They paid the money they get to set the rules.

Maybe if they had stuck to their word of "not changing things" Phil Parkinson would have stuck around then they wouldnt have needed to rush into a new appointment....idiots.

 

I think with Parky it's a his way or no way plus the football wasn't what they wanted and we all know Parky has his style. If he'd have stayed he wouldn't have lasted that's for sure!

 

Read @Norman Corner post what you've posted is irrelevant, he's on about them panicing (according to him) and signing Stuart, hence my quote.

 

I'm afraid what Edin says and what subsequently happens are very often very distant acquaintances, if they know each other at all in my opinion.

 

if Stuart was a panic appointment if wish we'd panic again. if it works out as well as that one did we'll be fine.

 

But they then appointed Grayson who didn't fit their football philosophy or desire for a coach. They had time to think about that appointment whilst they mulled over the sacking of McCall.
They then compounded their "error" by offering said incompatible manager a 2 year contract.
You really couldn't dream this stuff up
