    A Manager's prerogative following a less than acceptable performance is to fish out the positives. Well here we are again awaiting start up and fishing for positives..well we are way off pole and a fair way down the grid it seems.If additional strength is in the new kids, then I hope it works out for a change and they give us something to gloat about. Everything seems in stall mode and although my belief is that Stuart will get the best out of his charges,I just want to see a fitting intent for a Club of our size (fanbase wise at any rate.)

    I was reading comments from the Port Vale manager who was saying patience is paying of because realisation was setting in and gradually salary demands were getting more realistic as time goes on

    Mansfield haven’t improved they lost their best player then couldn’t afford to offer Maynard a new contract and Rumour has it Rose maybe on the move and they have signed one striker with a poor record and a national league striker with a good record but unproven at this level

    I do think this is what he is doing too. I would be willing to bet that there are some players that he is after that are waiting out for a higher league to come knocking. Standard stuff. Would say this probably benefits us more as not as many clubs esp. in the lower leagues are spending and if they are there's such a large selection of free players this season to pick from.

    A saw an interesting stat on this the other day. Apparently the teams with most upheaval in a summer normally do better than the teams who keep the majority of the sqaud together. This was legaue 1 & 2.

    Problem with waiting for your target is trying to get them up to speed both fitness and tactics wise. We might have played 4/5 games before they're ready.

    Cheltenham have sold their best player Ryan Broom to Peterborough today, freeing up funds and a squad slot for Matty Blair, so I can't see that one happening.

    John Askey Manager of Port Vale was quoted as saying Strikers they have been looking at all summer are gradually lowering their demands to nearer what they can afford.
    The same situation with city seems likely
