No he's been written off already after 1 game. I remember Ravenhills first game for us and was absolute shite and all unsundrie were slagging him off ,but he became a decent signing.

 

I think on paper we assembled an ok squad over that summer. Don't remember any complaining when Doyle, Payne, Akpan etc came in. Found a decent one in O'Brien too.
Id suggest the abysmal appointments of that kid, Hopkin and Bowyer were more to do with that. Didn't work too bad for 16/17.

Point is our recent managers have had a poor record.

 

Ricky Ravenhill's attitude was spot on.

I'd say a player with a spot on attitude as well as the ability is more likely to turn things round than Guthrie, who even looked pathetic in his City debut.

 

It was a terrible squad assembled by 2 men who knew feckawl about football.

We became so poor to watch ,especially the nearer lockdown came , that my intrest wained, although i will always attend matches.
I took no notice of the Gutherie signing and have not seen enough of him in the short tlme he played to pass judgement.
Looking at that goal compilation , there does seem to be something , especially if you put in decent crosses for the lad to get his head on, too early to write or slag him off.

 

I think if it stopped at Abbott in charge of finding players for mccall it might have worked. But when Rahic got involved and brought his German mates over too etc it was always gonna end in tears

 

Nolan and Guthrie, 2 6ft+ forads, sling those crosses in and goals will be easy!!!!

 

I thought it was you at the fans forum when Rahic was there after they'd sacked McGod who told Abbo the January dealings were "a shambles" which he didnt take kindly to but most agreed ?.

 

Greg Abbott has forgotten more than you know about football.

 

The amount I or anyone else know about football has nothing to do with Abbott’s incompetence in the transfer market.

 

I'm sure Stuart will have players in mind and passed fellow pros who he can talk to with regards players, McCall got Romain Vincelot and Timothee Dieng on recommendations from Abbo and tumble I believe, he'll have plenty of contacts out there plus his trusted WyScout on his tablet.

Guthrie again has been made done kind of weird target by the fans. Not his fault he was signed and then suffered an injury. Some of the comments on him on here and twitter haven't really been fair but it seems to be the Bradford way. We need someone to blame.
The lad was completely written off before his career here has even started.
