Many days care centers for kids are still open, most have vacancies. That said, the closure rate is increasing. (Granddaughter in an institution here, they closed one of their sites and consolidated. Still have spaces).

Seems to be alot of anger at the quarantine imposed on travel to Spain.

Leciester within the UK has been in lockdown, Luton and Blackburn have had additional requirement laid upon them as recently as last Friday.

With places within England having sanctions laid upon them it should real come as no suprise for countries showing spikes being added to a quarantine list.

After all the people moaning about letting the Madrid fans to Anfield, a slow late lockdown within the UK are now shouting loudest because their piss up in Benidorm has been put in jeopardy.

Go back to Feb/Mar when many people were stuck aboard, not just being put in quarantine on their return. People are acting as if this has gone away.

Getting full stadia back this season is looking grim according to Professor James Calder a government advisor.
But Professor James Calder - who has chaired the cross-sport working group with government and health officials on the return to sport - has told BBC Sport that sports events are highly unlikely to have full capacity crowds this year.

"I would be very surprised if we could get full stadia back this year," he said. "Realistically I think it probably will need a vaccine and also a high take-up rate of that vaccine before we can really see full capacity stadia."

I notice out of 16.5m cases worldwide, and 654k deaths, that China with a population of over 1bn, claims to only ever to have had 84k people infected and just over 4.5k deaths.

Even with the disaster of this pandemic laid before us, deceit still continues.

Was anyone ever daft enough to believe the figures coming out of China since the whole thing started?

Oldham has just had a localise lockdown placed upon them including no access to households from people outside the household. This comes after a large increase in the last week, with many people of the same households coming down with the virus.

This follows Leciester, Blackburn and Luton.

Sky News have a very simple tracker, showing the approximate state of play of each of the vaccine candidates:
    https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-tracking-every-global-effort-to-find-a-covid-19-vaccine-12030675
The Oxford University vaccine is still likely to be the first one to complete the trials, with an announcement expected around October 2020. The next couple are likely to be around the turn of the year, with a few more likely by the middle of 2021.

Hopefully, one of the front runners will give us the effectiveness we are hoping for.

I think we've already paid up front for it, whether it works or not. I expect that it will be offered free to everyone, as the cost of continuing with this virus will far outweigh that of the vaccine; the problem may well be persuading enough people to have the vaccine to get effective coverage of the population.

we have done that but we will not get the whole 190m doses on day one, and that is if any of the three or four we have bought work.

The committee advises priority vaccination of the following groups:

    • frontline health and social care workers
    • those at increased risk of serious disease and death from COVID-19 infection stratified according to age and risk factors

So whilst those are happening I would hazard a guess it would be available for those that wish to pay. Flu vaccine is usually between £10-£15 so who knows with this.Pneumonia is about £75
