The shite continues , English heritage are examining all blue plaques to see if there are any links to racism or slavery no matter how tenuous . The 2 latest targets are Lord Kitchener and Field marshall Montgomery , they seem to be intent of causing civil mayhem of the streets of the UK .

    I don't read any ultra-left sites. I'm strictly a mainstream guy.
The stuff you are quoting - Soros conspiracies, Jordan Peterson - is extremist - it's the right wing equivalent of far left Marxist/Leninist/Trotskyite stuff like the Socialist Worker.
Yes, I read the Guardian. And sometimes the Independent. I've been known to read articles from the New Statesman. The article I posted above by an ex Tory MP was from the Spectator - virtually the Tory house magazine.

The Guardian is Liberal/Social Democrat/slightly left of centre. Most of its prominent writers are Blairites who were deeply opposed to Corbyn. Yet the way that you and others on here talk about it you'd think it was the Morning Star or Pravda.

The problem here is that politics; n this country has moved so far to the right that people like you regard middle of the road stuff like the Guardian as ultra left and right wing wackos like Jordan Peterson as mainstream.
As for the Guardian closing down because of its editorial stance in the 19th century, by that token we'd have no mainstream serious papers left. The Times and Telegraph supported all sorts of dodgy stuff in its past. What about the Mail, whose owner wrote editorials in praise of Hitler and actively promoted Moseley. I'm sure the Guardian would be only too happy to apologise for supporting the Confederacy if you wrote and ask them to.

I don't 'advocate' tearing down statues. I just don't see why it's such a big deal. And I don't understand why people like you get so upset by it. There are loads of proud things to celebrate in our history, but slavery isn't one of them. Why can't we praise and celebrate the good stuff and condemn the bad?

Yeah they are. Most of their senior writers were paid up members of the Chuka Umanna/Chris Leslie fan club. Some of them have still not got over the demise of the SDP. There's a few that are more radical, like George Monbiot, but the editorials are usually mainstream Keynesian stuff that Ted Heath and Harold MacMillan wouldn't have batted an eyelid at.

I come from a central point in politics, you can gloss it up but they ain't slightly left. If the supposed rabid Daily hate mail is far right then the Guardian ain't 'slightly left'.

I don't honestly think they know just how absurd their mutterings are, some people obviously have too much time on their hands, but fear not our mate @Offcomedun@Offcomedun will be along to defend her...

So which of the Guardian writers is 'far left' then? I don't see any of them advocating mass re-nationalisation of industries or massive tax increases on the rich or abolishing public schools or any such hard left policies. Writers like Toynbee and Rawnsley have been busy knifing the likes of Milliband and Corbyn for years. The paper has flirted with endorsing the LibDems ahead of Labour at times - radical stuff! What is it about the Guardian/Observer that you think is so radically left?

I'm all fro reasoned debate on the black lives matter protests, an important and emotive subject that needs change for the better. But people like Onasanya do more harm than good. And besides, who wants to listen to the bleatings of a convicted liar?

I didn't say radically left, thats like tarring everyone right of centre as extreme far right. I'm not really interested who writes the article, more what it contains and to be fair amongst the sea of shite there are some very decent articles ( i'm not a huge fan of journalists as you can tell). Go between slightly left and 'radical left' and thats where the Guardian sits. Only my opinion mind.

I think shes got a point. These subtle injustices are everywhere. I'd personally like to see the games of snooker and pool banned too. The dominating ball is white. It's a constant on the table. And when does the game end? When it drives the black ball from the table. Clearly racial.

The worlds gone mad. The important debate cant be had because there are too many idiots clouding it with nonsense.

Small scale disturbances in London at the Weekend were reported as riots, you want to see proper trouble just take a look at Dijon in France over the weekend and tonight. Reports of Chechens against Algerians/Arabs/Albanians, take your pick, in a city out of control. Unsurprisingly, very little coverage. Quite scary how much of a rabid shithole France has become.
