Difficult to say, how have you understood it?

The general point I was making was that our national culture should be a composite of all its citizens whatever their ethnicity and background, rather than being reflective of just the white population.

 

Certainly it's all 3. The state can make sure people have enough money, safe communities, opportunities, access to support exiting the cycle of poverty and its implications. To get political , the Tories have decimated these services such as Sure Start centres, youth workers, social work. The list goes on.

Yes it is. There's been no shortage of issues around certain black artists lightening their skin tone to appear 'whiter' and thus more respectable for example.

 

Sounds so lifeless and half arsed compared to Little Richard's original haha. Yeah it was very common practice, alongside the white cover versions being the ones that were given to radio stations by the pluggers at the time. Whilst the industry still has a fair few issues I@m glad this has largely stopped being one of them.

 

The artists I refer to are:

P Diddy
Jay Z
Dr Dre

Who from that list has made an obvious attempt to lighten their skin tone? Who else has done so, apart from Michael Jackson?

 

And he only did it to look like another black artist Diana Ross so I wouldn't say he did it to be white.

To add balance there is also a large section of the white working class community whose lives reflect your comments on the black community, i've just spent time working at an extended african families house in Leeds. All the household had a degree of some sort, the young lad was a promising rugby player who wanted to study sports science. I have the displeasure of working in some of these white working class households, single mothers with children to numerous dads who are never there, kids running round the house naked like feral rats, usually left with an ipad or iphone to play with because mum is too preoccupied with facebook or where her next joint is coming from, thinks the worlds owes them a living while the Eastern European family next door 'get everything given to them'.

Comes across as terrible stereotyping but i see it far too often, the kids don't stand a chance.

 

Oh dear, are there any of the cast from The Black & White Minstrel Show still alive so they can apologise, yes I'm old enough to have watched it as well as Love Thy Neighbour, Till Death Do Us Part, Rising Damp, Steptoe & Son, It Aint Half Hot Mum, Mind Your Language.

 

What a pair of twats, we purposely stopped doing these sort of sketches years ago. Personally i couldn't care less what they do but the hypocrisy of slating the likes of Manning and Davidson by the public for years only for the likes of these two and Walliams and Lucas to do the same doesn't sit right with me.
