I watch in the morning. I don’t know why, it’s just him either being smug and self centred (he was genuinely saying today that he should be the next Bond) or it’s him being smug and self centred when he’s ripping into people who don’t share the same views as him. Farage got all guns blazing this morning.
I’ve said it before, he had a go at woke people last year, and now he’s the most woke person on tv just because it makes him feel better about himself. Awful man.

 

I'm not even sure it makes him feel better about himself, its just making him more popular to the ignorant masses.

The list could go on and on. I suspect Queen Victoria will be examined. I expect the word "Great" to be removed from "Great Britain". Someone even talked about the Oliver Cromwell being taken down because of how he dealt with the Irish. As much as its akin to the book burning in the 1930s, its also akin to an Orwellian type removal of all history that doesn't "fit in".

 

There's a decent debate to be had about this. What is the purpose of a statue? Are we celebrating greatness or commemorating history or both? What should qualify?

If we're going to look into the statues of people with a new eye then there won't be many left. Where are we going to draw the line and say we apply today's standards of morality to their worthiness? WW2 seems to be a good benchmark however, Churchill was involved in some pretty disgusting things, genocide included.

 

Quite right. He who is without sin, etc. I think different statues have different meaning. Celebration, to commemorate history, or even to serve as a warning to where we need to learn from history.

Khan the Lord Mayor of the capital of England is thinking of forming a " diversity panel " they will study all the statues in London and decide their fate , i suggest Mr Khan if you want to promote a backlash carry on . Getting tired of the " Shame " of past generations , even Nelsons column would not be safe , Anthony Joshua yesterday made a statement that all BAME people should hurt the White businessesand hit them in their wallets , fine but if i counter called for a boycott of BAME businesses i would be pointed out as a " Racist " , is this the future of our great country ? BBC Radio 1 are advertising for reasearchers , only Non white people can apply , a flagrant disregard to the rules , this from a public funded Broadcasting organisation that claim to represent everybody in the UK . If there is major problems on the streets in the future it will be down to people like the BBC Sky and other MSM racking up the past . The vast majority in this country are moderate liberal and tolerant , but the continual attacks on our very culture and our rich history even good or bad will cause more harm than good .

 

This is now a social, political movement. A weaponisation of race by the left and much of the media.

I have no problem saying ‘black live matter’. Of course they do. I don’t think there’s much of any real evidence to show that western society doesn’t hold this principle very sincerely. I do have a problem with the ‘Black Lives Matters Movement’, in the way its been subsumed by very different agendas and ideologies.

There are 2 very different statements:

1) Racism exists in this country
2) This country is systemically racist.

Very different statements but they’ve been conflated. 1 is true. 2 isn’t.

 

The dictionary defines "woke" as being aware, and "knowing what's going on in the community." It also mentions its specific ties to racism and social injustice.

 

It has to be said, People need to be honest and brave, The vast majority of racists are black,

 

The Nazi party got rid of things they didn't agree with, statues, music, burnt books etc, they also called for the boycotting of Jewish shops.

A mate of mine is a venue promoter in Whitehaven ( racist reference ) he usually promotes rugby / football / boxers etc to talk about their careers etc , i attend a few , Anthony Joshua was on last year 99% white audience ( he was very good ) but he was happy to accept white privilage money , just another man jumping on the bandwagon

 

Can't remember who he was, or which organisation he was from (cos they are all coming out of the woodwork), but a black guy, who was born in the UK and lived all his life in the UK, was suggesting that there should be "Black British" on the next voting papers when it comes to nationality/ethnicity. Surely stuff like this is just causing divides rather than bridging them? I'm not being funny, but us Brits should be looking at what is happening over in America, and thanking our lucky stars that we're not living in such a f**ked up country.
