it is just a report of what he put to the court in evidence earlier in the year rather than a new statement.

now I thought T&A was slow but this all broke yesterday

    No imaginary Merc.

How can a club plan for next season in terms of recruitment when we don't even know when or if it will start? I expect all non contract players to be let go but getting players in won't be for a long time.

No, I just don't have faith in a club that lacks ambition and direction

Supporters haven't been offered refunds or anything yet. Think you are getting ahead of yourself.

One little zoom to Ryan and you act like a fat kid in sweet shop.

That’s all good and well for new players we bring in but those at the club, some are on good money for this league. Far too good for the way they have performed

We need to reset. Get rid off all the out of contract players(funny Salford and Mansfield have already) and just see what is what.

No point going at 100mph when next season might not happen.

    Forget it...next!

Why you so confident about next season?

Not convinced it's happening myself. How are we going to be able to afford the testing?

My understanding is that the figure for Div 2 being talked about is £2m. Personally I am all for this - gets us away the current crazy business model of football - that to key to success is finding an owner with the most money !!

With any budget cap like this there are tricky issues to resolve with its introduction - how to deal with existing contracts , how to deal with loans, signing on fees.

Taking about loans - I would suspend them for the next 2 seasons for Div1 & 2 - there is going to be plenty of footballers out of work who willing take short-term contracts - so why give a 2nd job (via a loan) to a player who is already in a job.

What else would I change - again for Div1 & 2 sides - ban them from paying agents - there's going to plenty of players out there available - if a player wants to use an agent to get him a team fine but he pays the agent.

I agree strongly with this post. Banning loans (except in case of emergency, given the need for fitness) is a good idea for the short term; I don't get why agents get paid anything other than a percentage of their clients' wage either.

Totally agree about the race to getting the richest owner being a really poor example of how a competition should be managed. That football has reacted so slowly has made the situation a joke. Manchester City and Chelsea winning the Premier League after the form those clubs showed prior to being bought out? Ludicrous.

Once upon a time, I would have disagreed with wage caps and the like - but when it's got to the point that only one division in the entire pyramid is profitable, there's literally no other choice. It has to happen, and fingers crossed it does happen.

Exactly -- that's how it works over here in the prefessional leagues -- agents get paid by getting a cut of their players' salaries. There really is no reason why any club should pay an agent. That I would like to see banned.

As for loans, I've long thought they should go back to the way they were -- used primarily as short-term replacements for injured or suspended players. Thus 1- or 2-week loans, perhaps with an option to extend for another 1 or 2 weeks. Secondarily, as a way to give youngsters some experience -- though again these should be less than season-long loans. Granted we have had some excellent season-long loans -- Cullen, for example -- but I do not think they should be used as a way to build a team. The player gets good experience, true enough, but the club suffers in the long run. Thirdly, no way should a club be paying a "loan fee", or even part of the loaned player's salary. That should remain on the parent club's books.

FA have stated they will not block the non-relegation of Stevenage. They have said relegation would only be enforced in leagues that finish behind closed doors.

It's down to the EFL to decide isn't it?

So that's league 1 and championship finished then. That makes no sense.

I think looking at the women league option from the FA it was: PPG with no relegation, null and void or PPG, no relegation and Villa promoted.

It just seems that they don't want Barrow and another promoted. It might just be Barrow but I wouldn't be shocked now if the non league was null and void. Thoughts @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler

Going back to the FA.. this was the same FA that said promotion and relegation has to happen. Hmmm

You're spot on Fordy. They say one thing and do another, weak as water, I suggested this in another post, Greg Clarke is a waste of space. Looks like just Barrow promoted to replace Bury.
Add in the fact that if L1 stops like L2 then Bolton escape again, more lives than a cat!
There will be hell on from lower leagues but looks like BPA will survive.

Did you read what I put? The fa have said it will only be enforced if the season is finished behind closed doors. Prem championship etc. They have the power to veto mid season rule changes so can go over the efl and it’s decision.

league one could have 27 teams next season if championship does finish. Figure that one out. Mess.
