I would think with regards his comment he realises that if the Premier League are called back to start playing then players wont need a pre season, some Leeds players were at Thorpe Arch the other week going through the motions.

But you see some PL players who have fitness trainers from the club sent with them on their summer breaks who look well off the pace in pre-season so I'm not sure it’s a 2-4 weeks max thing because there is a difference between being fit and being match fit. It’s hard enough to replicate the work out a match gives and the level required to get through it in training where they can run practice matches so expecting them to be at that level training in their gardens alone is asking alot

Well it’s stupid to ease the lockdown right now. We have other countries doing it and we should be waiting to see what happens with them. If it gets eased too soon and we end up having to go into a second one it’s going to do more damage than if we stay in a lockdown

Players in PL will be fit..yes not match fit but they will play matches in training.. they will be playing a lot of matches in a period, so it's a case of 2-4 weeks for me.

EFL might be different but again highlights why the clubs need looking at.

I have been travelling to work as normal during the lockdown, and for the first 3 weeks the roads during the commute to and from work were dead. However, the same roads have been noticibly a lot busier this week, especially the evening commute. So, either a lot more people have returned to work this week, or there are more people just out for a drive?

Nothing from the article spells alarm to me from a financial point of view as far as City are concerned.

He does say many clubs who were in financial trouble before this crisis may struggle to survive. However, he does say that City are prepared to react to any situation that may arise

Thats how I read it anyhow

But it’s how many matches that will need to be played in such a small period of time that makes it so problematic especially with the talk being that the PL are going to play all of their matches in one location with all the players holed up in isolation at a hotel for the whole period. So training is going to be limited as teams are going to have to most likely share training facilities but stagger use and they are going to need a much higher level of dog ness to be able to play every few days

Quite right Simon. Around 6.00 pm tonight Chief Medical Officer has clearly said he can see Social Distancing lasting til the year end unless a vaccine that works is found. So where are we now?

I think today's briefing has pretty much knocked most football on the head until 2021 at the earliest; the Premier League, and probably the EFL, will be able to organise behind closed doors matches, but below that you have to fear for other clubs.

The television money will be able to sustain the Premier League, but even for many EFL clubs, surviving on iFollow money is going to be a struggle.

By the time football returns in front of crowds (and there has to be an 'if' in there) then it will be a very different scenario to the one we left behind just a few weeks ago.

They're not going to say anything different hence why these daily updates are a little boring now.

However, it will be nearly impossible to stop people seeing their family until a vaccine is found.

The government are not stupid and will know sport needs to be played but if 91 club she can't finish the season or wait like any other businesses to see what happens then f&ck football and everyone in it!

Businesses are struggling and football clubs crying just isn't good image.

Finish the season or wait until a vaccine because next season isn't happen if clubs can't wait like the rest of us!

I want football to come back other countries are dealing with it. Football just needs deal with the situation this let's quit is just embarrassing.

As I have said before, if a vaccine is found and produced tomorrow then at 100,000 applications a day it would still take up to 2 years to get to everybody in the UK...

I don't think we'll be waiting until the entire population has been given a vaccine to lift restrictions.

I will be done on a "at risk" situation possibly the eldest first along with those with underlying problems as we know this virus seems to be a minor problem for many younger people, having said that I shake my head in disbelief when we discuss the flu jab and how many of a similar age as us don't feel it's not necessary to get a winter flu jab.
