I think thousands upon thousands of people dying and a health system being overwhelmed beyond recognition would be worse. But each to their own.

Virgin know that in Australia no one leaves.

I feel Virgin are trying to stop that from happening here but flights need to stop.

Thousands will die and it's really sad.

However, thousands will be on the streets if we don't get a grip of this.

Virgin asking for money highlights the bigger picture problem.

Like it or not people have bills to pay and families to feed.

Of course they. And we’ll have to find a way through it as a society. But leaving people to die in their masses isn’t a preferable alternative.

The problem adults have is that they think children are stupid.

Children will be effected by this. They can't go to school, can't see their friends and can't understand why their parents are at home. It's not normal!

We're in danger of damaging the minds of the youth or today. Exams not taking place and they will worry about the future.

Mental health issues will increase if this goes on longer than two weeks.

It’ll be tough, but maybe our molly coddled, narcissistic youth (not really any faulty of their own) need to be toughened up. Maybe they’ll emerge as better people for this. Character is formed by tough times, and they - and most of us have never really had a big social problem like this to contend with.

I’m pretty sure that the kids of the 30s and 40s had more to worry about.

Government are bailing out self employed for next 3 months so expect a lock down of a similar length

If there's a reason there are problems all over the world, it's people stockpiling rice.

    I mean, money.

    Seriously, watch that video.

Each grain of rice is a reasonably nice house here in the North of England.

    Genuinely disgusting.

    Disagree.

The reason why I disagree is because this isn't a Boris lockdown.

Speaking to some international business friends of mine they're in lockdown too and until the 20th of April(so 3 weeks). It would seems that this is at least a quarter of the world lockdown to tackle this virus together.

However, countries like India who are on this lockdown simply can't afford to be on a lockdown for more than the 3 weeks the G20 have seemed to agreed.

Plus the self employed get money in June and I think they will get done over again.

I believe it will be back to work but no going in to others houses, pubs etc still shut and offices will have to do the 2 metre rule plus no domestics or international flights.

Australia have basically done the above. Think Trump is outlining next steps tonight which will be similar to what I have mentioned.

Is this thread about coronavirus or Fordy?

I think I'd rather get diarrhoea then listen to the prime minister elect, more and more...

He's trying to make sure Boris continues flights out of the UK.

He knows other countries have banned flights out of their country.

Flights aren’t allowed into most countries either so if Boris says they can take off where are they going?

Scotland has 1059 confirmed cases of Covid 19 but the chief medical officer up here reckons currently 65,000 people could be infected.

Don't know mate but he's trying to stop Boris from saying you can't leave the county when the lockdown relaxes.

Children who’s parents don’t really care are going to be affected. With proper parenting - the type that’s hard work and requires immense effort - they’ll be fine.
Kids are more adaptable than most think.
