Tbh was a farce this morning. We went for a walk, 100's of others doing the same, keeping distance no stopping & chatting. Went in for a coffee at McD Shipley and a load of kids mingling, nobody taking any notice of the 1m apart boxes and everybody using the touchscreen as there was no human serving, total muddled up corporate thinking.

Well more fool you! You need to start behaving more responsibly to protect yourself and your loved ones and acting as a responsible member of society. The same comment applies to the other idiots in MaccyD's and those floods of people who decided to visit Malham Cove en masse and some of the east coast resorts. It's as though people believe that they are both immune to the virus and have no responsibilties to themselves or to others. It's unbelievable how some so-called intelligent members of our society are acting at the mo. It demonstrates clearly that the Govt's 'advisory' strategy isn't working and this advisory approach needs to evolve onto the mandatory stage for all gathering places where the irresponsible and idiotic can congregate in an uncontrollable way.

That was a long post from somebody who maybe missed the latest government advice to exercise and utilise public spaces to do so.

According to my pedometer I have 11,652 steps and covered 5.06 miles. Managed without a coffee and avoided crowded places, when out for a walk.

Prime example of why Boris needs to be more clear in his delivery and just get tough..

We expect many who can't behave in other countries on holiday or following England football to take instruction clearly?

What was not clear for you, today it was open and tomorrow its closed?

My eldest son has lost his job and is moving back home. My daughter has lost her job too. Both businesses do not have any customers, its not just a health issue.

I agree that Boris has needed to make things crystal clear from an early point, and that hasn't changed.

The government can't say 'please keep sending your children to school as it's safe', and then three days later there's an outcry about how people aren't religiously spending all their time indoors. It's too big of a jump, and for all the social media hysteria (well-meaning, all of it), it's the government that have failed to make explicit the urgency of the situation.

People need to also call off their dogs when it comes to 'anti social groups of children' - all sorts of rubbish being spouted on social media about these kids, but they're a) not making the decisions to let themselves out, that would be the parents and b) should shoulder far less blame than the adult clowns hopping in their Mercs and heading off to the Highlands, Anglesey, absolutely any tourist hotspot (Ilkley rocks being an obvious one) and if the car park's full, parking up anywhere they see fit.

I imagine this past weekend will see social shaming result in fewer and fewer numbers going out and about - that's fine, but this should have all been led by 10 Downing Street.

Downing Street tried to shy away from closing schools, then bars & restaurants, now parks and drive thru's.

I don't think there's any real scope for Boris to be proactive anymore, almost every step has been reactionary - and if you're buying the 'we're doing this by a timeline' bullcrap, then more fool you. This supposed timeline has shown absolutely zero success, and the fruits of the government's labour is likely to be as negative as any other country anywhere in the world. It isn't even remotely looking positive in terms of the way this crisis has been handled. But who knows, perhaps the USA will blow everybody else out of the water.......

The 'rules' can't make a provision for every possible scenario. The underlying principle couldn't really be any clearer - avoid all unnecessary movements outside of your home and when you do need to go out, maintain 2m distance from anyone else. If you have any symptoms however mild, you stay home for 7 days if you live alone. If you live with others, you all stay home for 14 days.

People need to be grown ups and make responsible decisions for the greater good, not expect the government to spell out every action they're expected to take.

Well look like Trump is giving it 15 days then letting everyone crack on as normal

    Donald J. Trump
    ‏Verified account @realDonaldTrump

WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF. AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!

    - I fully believe Boris will do the same in June.

The world can't continue to be in lockdown.

I think it will be look we have told you people will die, told you to wash your hands, social distancing etc but unfortunately nothing else we can do.

I think you need to make your mind up, you were calling Boris a bellend for not being strong and now you don't want a lock down?

Don’t be ridiculous. There’s not a chance we will not go into lockdown. The nhs simply cannot cope if this gets anywhere near Italy’s level.

Let’s just let everyone continue as normal to save the economy? Rubbish. The economy will still be there when we come out of this. Let’s batten down the hatches for 2-4 weeks and enforce a lockdown.

    No don't get things twisted.

I want a 3 month full lockdown and I have always said that. I want the best effort to reduce this but we can't continue like this forever.

My problem with Boris is he's poor at presentations and public speaking.

Even the Scottish woman is delivering a message better. This is a time to be cystal clear.

What Trump is saying isn't weak. I might question 15 days but his message is clear unless Boris. I would rather him say full lockdown for 3 months then we will make key decisions.

We all know the risks and outcomes now.

No mate.. I agree. Full lockdown is required in the UK.

Full lockdown until June for me.
