The better we get at finding players and bringing them through the more we will produce. And when young players see it’s the place to come to progress in the game the more they will want to join

You fail to mention the players who have been on 4k a week, who were an absolute credit to the club.

Someone must have surgically removed that quality when he joined us because he showed nothing in his spell at the club. I think even the most pessimistic of fans was expecting a championship quality player but he looked nowt like one.

He did break his leg badly! He was out for 9 months. You can't legislate for that.

 

Bournemouth, Brentford, Fulham, Swansea, Hull etc.
Even 'historical' clubs like Hudders, Burnley etc have endured extended periods scratting about in the lower leagues.
On the flip side, the national league is littered with famous ex league clubs.
The point i'm making is history counts for for little modern game. With the right vision/ investment even unfashionable clubs can achieve success.

Which kids? Who do you speak of? Which kids were regulars we relied on last season?

 

If you pay fees or high wages for genuinely good players then at least you are giving yourself a chance, regardless of whether the signing works out. The problem with our spending policy is that if you are paying money for either complete wank or average players, then the policy is ALWAYS going to be flawed, and that's where we went wrong last season. Regardless of our method of spending, we have to use the budget better this season. Riley is good start. Sort out that awful midfield and I might just start #believing

Im not giving up on Reeves and McCartan. With the right coaching they can be valuable assets.

Look at Marshall and Morris.
