It would be a valid point if those teams that really want to beat us, had done so more often. As it stands, regardless of whether we have played well or not to accumulate those points, the fact is that we have the fourth best home record in the league with 35 points gained, only 1 point off Crewe who are 1st with 36. The reason we are where we are is due to our poor form away from home, not because we are a big fish in a small pond that every other team wants to beat when they come to Valley Parade.

 

I thought it was a little unfortunate with regards Devitt's sending off against Chelternham, I believe with the frustrations of being side lined so long he wanted to show what he was all about, and until the rush of blood to his head he showed very much what we were lacking in midfield, but of course once you're on a yellow you have to have a little more composure when making a crucial tackle that might get you a second yellow, which unfortunately he didn't.
But yes it is a little strange a lad who is prepared to put himself about in midfield can't make the bench when that is exactly what this present team are lacking IMO.

 

Presumably it's because he is not doing enough in training.

 

I hope that is the case, because if it is a payment to Blackpool if he plays over X amount of games that is short sighted by the hierarchy

 

Of course it is all about opinions. We’ve all got one.
I just think in our own half and a 50/50 ball like that show some bottle and get stuck in. He went down expecting it to be given and it wasn’t and now we’ve paid the price for it. If the referees been dodgy all game surely that’s in the players minds?

No excuse for their equaliser. Think I counted 4 or 5 opportunities to clear yet we didn’t. Can’t blame the wind for all 5

 

Is he fit enough? Missed a big chunk to injury. Doesn’t sound like we’ve been able to train properly this last week. And then he was suspended?

Norman certainly doesn’t like Stuart but I think you have missed the point.

So the point from Norman, reading the whole thread, seems to be that we have an average team and an average manager.

But maybe I am misreading.

Not if the other team is full of taller players - it makes it more difficult to defend crosses and get headers from crosses, corners and free kicks Fordy.

 

All managers in League Two are average.

What is blindingly obvious, though, is the average managers at Swindon, Crewe and Exeter have all been in place since 2017 or 2018.

Not 12 days.

That time has allowed them to develop a playing style and bring the players in to play that style.

There has never been anything wrong with the style Stuart has adopted in the past, and his win ratio has been consistently high with the occasional slump that he generally hasn't been able to get us beyond.

But there isn't a manager in the world who hasn't had a similar slump and faced the sack.

I wasn't a fan of the appointment but there's a clear improvement in the football already. The games are now watchable which is a vast improvement in my eyes. If you preferred Bowyer in charge then beggars belief. Out of interest what world class managers were available for a 4th div team and who should've got it?

 

It's just one dimensional rubbish posted by a guy with no actual ideas or solutions.

When fans focus on just one thing, you end up with bizarre statements like:

"Anyone but McCall"

which can lead to even more ludicrous statements like

"Sattelmaier can't be worse than Colin Doyle"
