My take on Rupp is that he wants to get out of this mess with minimum spend. The reason Rhodes is here is because he knows how to run the club on a shoe string. He came to the club with Rahic and an agenda to continue to run the club like it had been run with Rhodes and Lawn and adopt Rahic mad idea of buying cheap young players from top clubs, yea right!!

To be honest not entirely sure how long he will stay, at the moment both Rahic and Rupp have reaped the rewards of ex player sales. So now we are down to income only, and where he will either have to stay and invest or cut and run.

A Director of Sport would be fantastic if we get the right man or woman, someone to lead the club, and support our manager, plus be able to see how we can generate a profile that can attract investment. However, until we know what Rupp is going to do, that is secondary.

We're not going to know what Rupp is going to do.

Ryan Sparks said they had been interest in the club but no real follow up which to me means Rupp is wanting too much.

If we now count on income the I think a Sporting Director is more vital than ever as clearly with the vast amount of players we need to get rid of and sign will be huge.

I take it Rhodes isn't working for free? We have hired Ryan- for what?

My fear is we continue running the club like it was under Rhodes and Lawn but we will be stuck in div 2 for a long long time if we do while other times just over take us as they've long term vision.

It won’t last one season like that, I think we are coming into crunch season, he has to either commit or not. He does have some scruples, or otherwise he wouldn’t still be here.

I mean you post a picture like that Park but Fordys absolutely right (pains me to say it! ;) )

This transfer window gone, added to the fact we STILL HAVE NO SCOUTS AT ALL, added to letting Bowyer let Doyle and Vaughan go then sacking him days later says to me we have no plan. We are constantly reactive and reacting to situations, and essentially flying by the seat of our footballing pants. When was the last time we looked remotely prepared for anything? I've never supported city in the expectation for us to be any good, but they are just beyond taking the piss out of everybody now, and I for one am getting sick of being mugged off. We aren't asking those in charge to do anything hard, just run the club sensibly, efficiently and professionally with the right people in the right roles.

I think the bizarre recent sequence of events will be remembered for a very long time. But maybe it was so bad that at least the management will learn from
it and be determined it won’t happen again. I assumed that letting Bowyer remain for the closure of the window meant he was here for the foreseeable. Bizarrely he didn’t really get chance to use the players he’d signed. So yes you’re right we are reactive not proactive, to use the jargon. I wonder what the Germanic mind thinks about that.
