Our present situation must be very annoying for Rupp he possibly thought by getting rid of Rahic and bringing Julian back it was just a matter of time before we were back in league one and he could possibly rid himself of Bradford City FC.
Many were hoping the same unfortunatly it isn't turning out that way, as a club we are at a crossroads we either stay with Bowyer and hope he can turn our season around which at the present moment to most does not look like that will happen.
Do the club get rid of him and Drury and start again which involves more cost with no return, then employ another manager and his backroom staff, for a successful businessman he's certainly had his pants pulled down buying into our football club.
Unless something is done be that Bowyer turns our season around or a new man is brought in it will impact on sales for next season, ain't it great being a Bradford City fan, although it could be worse maybe Bury fans would happy take our situation.

If possible could anyone spend some time down at Apperley Bridge this week with a camera showing how he is trying to fit his 3 new recruits into an already packed 5 man defence and then with this evidence we could have him sectioned.

If it's a vote of confidence, I'd rather not hear it. The backlash on social media and on here would be huge and they'll just get (rightly) slated for it. Plus those probably 50/50 on whether to go on saturday will probably not bother if they know for certain he isnt going anywhere.

    Timing
It could be that it’s the previous mistakes that are now making them
indecisive. Good results come when owner, CEO and manager are all together and up to speed. Chaos is created when they are not. Bowyer has to go but there is a huge systemic fault at the club which will hamper the next guy however good he is.

But saying or doing nothing is likely to have the same impact or even p!ss fans off even more. It's the uncertainty that's the problem, and the disregard for fans concerns. Either sack him or back him, but for God sake do something!

Aye, I suppose it's a lose lose for them unless they sack him.

Exactly. And he already has his own get out of jail card sanctioned by Rupp and/or Rhodes. He's got two high earners off this season's payroll; he's earned some money into the bargain and replaced them with cheaper alternatives. That will have gone down well with both of his paymasters. Until we've seen the new players in action, we won't know whether the changes will improve our on field performances or not and only then can he be judged on the changes he's been allowed to make. Unfortunately by the time that happens, we may well be further outside the play-offs which although it might bring the issue to a head, it's not going to happen tomorrow. Alternatively the changes might be successful and we (or rather Rupp and Rhodes) will look back at recent performances and say we've turned the corner! But neither of those will result in Bowyer leaving soon. I don't understand what Rupp in particular gains from sacking Bowyer now and before the new squad has had time to show what it can do.

And even if, as I expect, performances don't improve, there is still 3 months in which to recruit a replacement and for that to act as a stimulus to the important issue for Rhodes and Rupp, selling next season's STs.

Posters on here who are wanting Bowyer sacked sooner rather than later are thinking as fans. Whether we like it or not, Rupp doesn't run the club as a fan; he runs it as a business. And he'll make decisions in that way.

i think there are four new recruits, two wingers and two big front men so best of luck with that Gary in shoehorning them in. I think we must have seen the last of the five man defence. Hasn’t he now made Donaldson captain so he can’t leave him out. How do you get Novak and Guthrie in then?

No one has said things will get better quickly, in fact we need to think long term.

You use The Crowleys and Jones as an example. Both were a risk as they had taken clubs from Div two to div 1 and doing well. For Stoke,Jones was always going to be a huge gamble at it didn't work out. However, O'Neil will because the expectations are different.

The Crowleys at Town is a great appointment. Town won't go down(unfortunately) and they will build.

People say they is no sugar dad to replace Rupp so he's here to stay.. Rhodes wants out but still here... so the club needs a long term plan. It needs to create an identity but it has to be the right appointment. Town have that.. we don't.

Fans don't like Bowyer and it's not going to change.

For me I would hire a sporting director like what Swindon did in Jewell( in fact get him) then kick on from there.. get a scouting network in... and then a younger manager.. funny this all this Swindon did and look at them now!

Sticking with Bowyer is pointless, short term or long term!

I want my football club back and to see a winning team, pride, passion, skill, endeavour.

Keeping this dullard manager championing one of the worst seasons ever and his dopey sidekick for a second longer is a second too long.

I hope Rupp is on the phone telling Rhodes to sort it now. This club will be worth peanuts (admin risk) if something doesn’t happen on the pitch, my other fear is Rhodes is happy for this situation to manifest so he can buy it back on the cheap.

    We
Ask the shrewd Grimsby manager! He’s probably got his sources Bielsa style.

The most balanced and considered summing up of the situation I’ve read for some time. You’ve put it in a nutshell and there’s nothing more needs to be said IMO until or unless Rhodes proves you wrong.

There may well be but I very much doubt that it would be to this kind of level.

Bowyer came in last season and actually made us worse, the vast majority have given him the chance this season though with his team. The football has been pretty dreadful all season but I take the point of 'results matter more than performances' particularly in this league. However the danger with this was always going to be when results turned, this kind of 'football' does not win you any friends and as such the fanbase was always likely to turn quickly.

You say no return, he will if we get it right. I hope he is patient because this cannot be sorted out overnight. He must be told in no uncertain terms and this has to be Julian, that brining in the right management team costs money and cannot be done on the cheap. Buying a can of paint without a brush and a decorator, will not redecorate VP. We need scouts, we need a good coaching team and one that can demonstrate they have achieved results. Obviously it is down to Rupp. The alternative is that he allows this situation to continue and watch his investment go down the tubes. He doesn’t have to look very far round the English leagues to see what happens to clubs who fail to invest in the infrastructure and concentrate on just buying players.

If there’s no communication from the club today, be it a sacking, a VOC or just a rallying cry, then it really shows how out of touch the board are with the fans.
Many people returning to the internet this morning expecting something.

Ultimately it will be lack of bums on seats that will get the message through to the R-men. I imagine there will be as many turn up on Saturday as would right now attend a performance by the Chinese National Touring Opera Company!

Bowyer is the 30th longest serving manager in the EFL, there are clubs which have changed managers twice in that time.
    Stagnation springs to mind

If the communication is not what some people want to hear I doubt they would welcome that.
