Playing 2 pre season games full of trialists, of whom only 1 was later signed, reeks of somebody who has lost the plot.

 

Aye good shout, forgot about him. Think DMH should start after positive display, so would have Pritchard dropping to bench, Middleton on the left flank.

 

Could be a real hiding this. They are full of confidence and have an attack minded manager who has got them playing the right way. Dread to think how Bowyer is going to counter this?

 

They've played some good stuff recently have Grimsby as the video of yesterdays goal shows. Amazing what can happen when a new manager comes in and allows the players to express themselves through playing good football. Bringing over 2,000 as well apparently so at least one set of fans will be singing.

 

On other hand it could turn out to be a turning point. We could have a new forward line and two new wingers on show with Devitt back who we have hardly seen it’s over half a new team. Whatever you think of Bowyer he was backed to bring them in he should at the very least be given time to see their impact

 

If he still here,I just hope he doesn't start with 3 at the back on saturday,that will for me be a bad start.

 

That will be about 1/3 of the actual attendance I think if GB is still in situ.

 

On the other hand, the turning point might never arrive. Just remember that only a few short weeks ago, you were saying how Bowyer should be given time because once Donaldson, Pritchard and Devitt were back, things would be different. Well, over the past 5 games when they have all been back in some capacity, they have collectively helped us amass the grand total of 3 points and one red card. I'm not sure when the penny is going to drop with you Park.

The players aren't the issue. It's the tactics and the coaching that's the issue. Can keep changing the personnel as much as he wants but playing 5 at the back sideways and backwards for 90 minutes the goals are going to be lacking. The Henley pass back to AOC was typical Bowyer ball. It just sums up his reign. All that fannying about at Mansfield as well. What's the point in signing all these midfielders if he's not allowing them to express themselves or to get themselves into the opposition box. The ball goes forward and it looks like an 8-0-2 formation. The midfield are about 40 yards deeper than the strikers. He's bad news and is making us into a laughing stock. I admire your positivity Park but's it's so misplaced in this situation. He's not even shown a glimpse that his team can create goals all year. Now the defence have given up there's only one direction we are heading. The new strikers are just going to be as frustrated as the last.

 

Well, i'm going but mostly to find out how many on my row are going to re-new whatever.

I think the stevenage game will be where you see an emptier stadium, with the kids missing the midweek game and then they announce the attendance as 14,000.

 

Well we have won 9 at home and would probably have won the last time out if Devitt hadn’t been sent off we were winning the match . We have two matches at home now if we flop in those two I might start to agree until then I think we will do well in them

If he sticks with insistence on playing effectively 7 defensive players then i fear for the likes of Novak and Guthrie. Either he drops this ridiculous mentality or he's doing himself out of a job.

One impact that will make Rupp & Rhodes wake up is when bowyer walks down the touch line
Every supporter holds up a card or what ever that reads Bowyer Drury Out
If Rupp & Rhodes are in attendance they can't ignore the feelings of the fans

I fear for McCartan, Middleton and DMH.

How on Earth do you fit them in when you're SO defensive?

It's a real burden on Bowyer to play two strikers at times... Connolly as well, it's bordering on taking the piss!

 

First half against Cheltenham we had Donaldson Connolly McCarten and Devitt who is an attacking midfielder not a defensive set up there

 

Is that down to poor players though or the tactics or the coaching? Paudie is a decent defender, especially at this level, as are Anthony and Ben. But play all three and they look uncomfortable.

Do we not do defensive drills with them, showing when to drop, when to cover and when to push out to fill the midfield space? And if they are being coached, is that Drury or Bowyer? Simply, they still look like they’ve never played together or know what their role is.

Coaching? Consistent change of formation? Players? I know which one of the 3 I think can be excused

 

Up until Christmas we had the best defensive record in the league with I don’t know how many clean sheets. It’s further forward in midfield where our immediate problem lies.
