Not quite sure I understand this...

 

When Hornby arrived he did an interview which suggested he was coming as number one or that he thought that was the case. As I remember there was debate right up to the last minute which of the two would get the nod, especially after Hornby performed well v Liverpool. The young lad was being sent out to Guiseley. It made little sense to me that a couple of months on the lad was back, not apparently good enough for a non league side, and Hornby off out on loan. I bet signing a new keeper is costing more than we’re saving on Hornby. That’s why I’m not inclined to praise Bowyer for his handling of the situation. I’m glad he’s moved to sort it but it could all have been done better unless of course Hornby is so dire we should never have signed him in the first place. He looked okay when I saw him, nice and tall, good on crosses.

 

Well we're paying the price for speculating on a number of acquisitions because there appears to be no leeway for any more incomings.

 

Unless the unthinkable happens this afternoon ... in which case money might be made available perhaps??

Patrick done all that’s asked of him at Wrexham but that’s his level. Will come here and be asked to work like a dog up front with Doyle no doubt since vaughan is out

 

I would suggest your correct if not I would be worried that Bowyer let someone go out on loan who was better than what we had, but if the lad thinks he can challenge for a place in the squad that can only be good........can't it ?.

 

Kelvin Mellor "thinks" he is a RB/RWB.

As does our manager as he dropped Henley to play Mellor, I think Patrick wanting to come back and fight for a place should be looked at in a positive manner, now whether he gets a chance is another thing.
