    Dear Gary

Thank you in advance for spoiling my weekend.

Having spent my hard earned cash on travelling away to so many memorable places, taking in the local culture and enjoying their hospitality only for a miserable experience between 3 & 5pm.

Just thought I would drop you a line before everyone else share their opinions.

    Regards
    Farsley XI

    Strangely yes!

You can't have it both ways can you - people are happy with the points tally/league position but are becoming increasingly concerned by the performances. I left the ground after the Mansfield & Morecambe victories feeling completely underwhelmed and judging by the grumblings on the way home I wasn't the only one. Another 1 - 0 win in similar circumstances would simply be papering over the cracks..

Whereas if we were to put on a display and show attacking intent probably last seen V Bolton & Oxford at home but come up short then I would actually be a little more hopeful for any future under Bowyer.

Sorry I just cant accept that for one minute, of course we would prefer to get out of this league playing great attacking football, but the alternative of playing entertaining footbal yet getting no points for doing so will soon ware off.

Scunny striker Lee Novak will be suspended on Saturday for his red card last week. Firstly, I saw this as a positive but then realised that this will probably open the door for ex City flop Jamie Proctor! He couldn’t score for us but you can put money on he’ll get one against us if they play him.

Ex City flop? Everything that was good about that side went through him in that second half of the season. Lead the line really well.

I think you are missing my point, I am talking purely about the Scunthorpe game in isolation. It is not a must win by any means, I just think that a scraped 1 nil victory where they hit the bar early doors and miss several chances throughout the game and we score through a penalty is not what is required tomorrow given the current negativity. Whereas a more expansive and upbeat display, even if it ultimately results in a loss would give people far more optimism.

So it's just a one off, then back to reality of not being the best at entertainment but good at putting points on the door and being in the promotion mix.

Not at all, forgive me if the question was what do you think is more important for the rest of the season..

I will spell it out for you - my opinion is based on the Scunthorpe game in isolation, what do I think is the most important thing for this game. I believe it is important that we put on a good performance even if we come up short, this would at least give me hope that things are about to improve. This is not my view for every game throughout the rest of the season, Yes I would hope that a more expansive style would be enforced and the results follow.

    Steady on tiger.
I'll repeat if it's only the one game and we walk away from Valley Parade after getting beaten but playing free flowing football you believe the fans will be buzzing because of the entertainment they have just witnessed for 90+ minutes.
Well this fan wont be happy getting nothing from a home game and possible seeing us drop down to 9th in the league, I can hear it now as the hordes of Bradford City fans leave Valley Parade, that's much better didn't we play well we really should have got at least a point from the game we battered them.
Sorry @Chipolata@Chipolata I still can't agree with your post, but that's what a forums all about fans have different opinions.

Sorry, but a very firm NO from me. Again, as has been posted numerous times, our attacking intent just has to improve, and be well executed - But not at the expense of dropping yet more points, no matter how well we Play.
Losing can become a habit ...... So let's not chance two in a row, huh?

We just need to keep racking up the points, and hope Bowyer can filter any improvements in along the way. :)

Exactly you go with what you have in our case introduce the players who have been out injured and hope we are more attack minded to make us not only hard to beat but to also be easier on the eye and play attacking football, utopia eh ;).

Apologies - just felt like you were overlooking my point.

It is strange to leave VP after a victory though to hear the vast hordes mumbling an grumbling, I can't say I heard a 'we won 2 nil lets just settle for the points'.

Agree to disagree, I will be far more encouraged for our future by a vastly improved performance rather than walking away having ground out a backs against the wall result getting neckache watching the football.

Each to their own - of course I do not want us to lose I am just placing emphasis more on performance rather than the result for one game.

Reading social media and this board, our fan base appears to be split to those that are happy (well not happy but accepting) of our current performances as results are being achieved and those which are extremely unhappy with the performance level & are fearful that results will turn continuing in this manner.

The point I am trying to make is that a much improved performance would do far more to improve this attitude rather than a continuation of the same only amplifying the divide.

Let's hope with our longer termed injuries returning they will have a positive effect on our style of play, the likes of Donaldson, Devitt, Pritchard and Ismail are all classed as attacking players

What's required is a win. If City fans, given our history, i.e. established lower league club, are now turning into West Ham ones - then we really have got problems

We actually played OK to well against Salford, easily our best match of this poor playing three months. I don't see those who now think performance over points is now fine, citing this as an example

Social media and us on these boards are not the defining factor for promotion. Us been happy with our play is totally irrelevant to the chance of promotion

Whilst there are some grumbles at the ground, fortunately the vast majority of the fans are in the the "not happy but accepting" category and therefore will want a 1-0 dodgy win over a great performance and a defeat

I've yet to see a match day article on these forums, where the team got fulsome praise for playing well and losing

Harry Pritchard has been put up to do the presser tomorrow with Bowyer. Thats suggests to me he'll be involved on Saturday.
