The thing is, we neutralize the opponent fairly decently and that's good when we're facing top of the league but it comes at a cost of us attacking as well. I think we pay far too much to respect to the beyond shit teams in this league and it's time to go all out attack on them, and hopefully Bowyer has seen that we don't need 5 at the back to nullify our opponent, top of the league against a back 4 only scored from a stupid penalty..at HOME.

Also. I'm amazed at the arrogance of some Swindon fans (mostly the twitter ones) when they have a squad built on sand. Loan merchants through and through. And they can say "well we were suffering from injuries today and had our star striker out", but we've had Donaldson and Devitt out since Oct/Sep and their star striker is ours, and their other one is Rotherhams. Respect to the pleasant Swindon fans however, as I know we have some toxic supporters too.

Or maybe good defending stopped them playing the way they usually do. Or do all teams become toothless when they play us

I have lost count of how many players we have had off injured and for long periods as well! Not to mention the whole squad off with sickness bug in rotation. During all that time you have had the No 1 striker who we are partly paying to keep you in top spot. Pardon me for not feeling any sympathy.

We do only play one way. We struggle against teams that are more intent on defending than attacking. We’ve been turned over at home by Newport, Cobblers and Colchester this season by them playing pretty similar to yourselves.

You must admit that your goal was the only shot on target. You created zilch from open play.

It obviously works for you so why change it.

Okay I'll utter the dreaded line: I'm glad we didn't lose.

We can. We did when we beat you earlier in the season. It still wasn't that great, but better than what your lot could come up that day

If I were you, I'd be wary of setting yourselves up as the purists of the division. Wellens (and of course Power) could on about this as though they should be seen as the Brazil of L2.

You've had this obsession with this for years, which of course is one of the reasons Mark Cooper left. Hasn't delivered much in the past four seasons has it? Maybe it's not he be all and end all in L2? Maybe other clubs relish rubbing your noses in the dirt? If I was a fan of nearby Forest Green I'd relish putting one over on the arrogance your club seems to have

The worrying thing for Swindon is that Doyle has been knocking in chances twice as often as you’d expect......that form cannot last a full season.

With City we have been held back offensively and have unfulfilled potential. Poor conversion at times too. I know which side I’d rather back for the title hereon in.

Swindon first half / Bradford second half we deserved at least a point. Swindon fall over a lot and waste time, they looked poor without Doyle, just need to bring him back and sit him on the bench and that will be it for Swindon.
Key difference in this league is quality, a good goal scorer is all a team needs to get promoted.

No it's not. When Prichard plays and we have the all round centre forward skills of Donaldson, we play better.

Likewise, your only shot on target was the penalty wasn't it?

Must admit, I thought you'd be better than you were. Losing Doyle clearly has a big effect.

To counter that i'd say the worrying from our perspective is we can't keep picking up points from one shot on target. Defensively we are probably top in the division but at the cost of creating little. Again Vaughan had no chance of scoring in that set up.

I agree with that as well Donaldson is the only player on our books who can hold the ball up which is important to the way we play. I would like us to sign a player of that type rather than bring Doyle back

I think we've had troubles of our own with injuries, and although you performed far from what is expected of league leaders at home Bowyer got it about right, without Doyle you are toothless, as we saw today, don't have a go at Bowyer.
I've posted above if Lee Power cant find the money to buy Doyle (that's if we're selling) then you could implode you offered very little going forward, most are well happy with the point, you don't gain on us, we've played you twice and taken 4 points from you, each time without Doyle surely that rings some bells.
Anyway nice debating with you lads, have a good second half to your season finishing second ain't so bad;).

Irrespective of the team we put out and irrespective of the result, I struggle to think of a game this season when I've come away from VP thinking that was a good overall performance. We've had our moments but little to suggest those moments can be sustained over the majority of a game. Maybe those times have yet to come.

Did Swindon deserve it with their two on target, including the penalty?

Agreed. I didn’t listen today but flicked SSN on briefly and after 25 mins or so Clinton Morrison said Vaughan looked isolated.

I can forgive Bowyer today and am very happy with a point, having slipped behind early, but against the league’s smaller teams we really need to puff our chests out and loosen the shackles.

Someone is gonna get a mauling off us when we do so.

    You won't . It's L2

I can can count on one hand the number of times I came away with that feeling, during our six years down here last time

When we eventually got promoted in 2013, we did so by taking just a point (home to Port Vale) from our promoted rivals.

Let's not gloss over the reality of that season. We got promotion in 2013 largely because Exeter blew up in the run-in and as a result we scraped into the play-offs
