Sorry can't agree, apart from the players he inherited Bowyer has brought in players (a few who have played for him in the past) who are familiar with his way of playing.
The likes of Vaughan & Donaldson with their experience of playing at a much higher level for much of their careers shouldn't have a problem adapting to the formation Bowyer wants to play.
Having said that there is no excuse for the yesterday poor performance and Bowyer not changing it when it was pretty obvious to most watching the game we were pissing against the wind with 4-3-3 as posters have said Otech comes on to play off Vaughan and offer an outlet and we look something like a football team.
We have to be positive with our league position with regards how average at best we've been most games, Bowyer and the team will have to up their game when hopefully we have all our players back fighting for the shirt.

Agree but might be too late to wait on players coming back

We need to produce now. It's not been good enough for weeks.

Tactics haven't been good enough also.

Yes as you say we have to produce in the 5 games before the January window, and if we are to get positive results from those games Bowyer needs to think about the players we have fit and at his disposal and how to get the best from then, maybe hold back with his obvious preference of 4-3-3 and give the team those 5 games with a 4-4-2 formation.

No doubt we'll have a mini run (1 on the trot..!!) before end of transfer window and end up going with what we have...................

We look like a team that can't put a decent run together at this moment.

We should be beat midtable teams.

4-4-2 has always been the formation Bowyer should of been playing with this group of players! It's worrying that he can't see this.

Saturday against Newport should be a good test.

    Bowyer still here.

The performance from the team haven't been there for months.
I believe we won't be promoted this season.

You know, it's possible to get promoted winning by the odd goal and having the odd bad run of form.

Just thought I'd throw that obvious sentiment out there.

True but we don't look like winning 1-0 often.

QPR look like they're sacking their manager soon.

    Watford manager gone today.

The reasons managers are sacked isn't because of looking at the future it's because of the at now. Can Bowyer now transform this team because currently he looks way out of his depth!

We don't need to transform, we need to improve our current form.

And that's the point and the reason managers get sacked.

Bowyer doesn't look like he's capable of doing this. No win in 5 and tactics all over the shop.

He's a negative manager with Drury as his number 2.. it's not going to end well unless we win on Saturday and the match after.

It's vital we go back up this season and Mr Rupp if he wants some money back will be questioning Bowyer now and rightly so!

Been looking over the auto promotion slots over the past 5 years.

The most obvious statistic is you need at least 84 points to make third on 4 out of 5 occassions. MK Dons bucked the trend last year to finish third with 79 same as second placed Bury.

If we assume that we are capable of chugging along unconvincing as we are in the same form. We could finish P46 W23 D10 L13 = 79 to match last seasons low point for third.

So we really have to surpass our level to date to have any hope of going up automatically. It looks more likely we would be a play-off prospect at best.

Can GB galvanise this under performing group into going on an undefeated bone fide promotion run from now to February ? The evidence would suggest that unlikely?

And yet the rest of this league is pretty darned awful as well so just bungling on might be enough? Promoted despite ourselves not because of?

Saturday v Newport is a must win game yet again 5 league games without a win and 7 overall is relegation form not promotion ? Bowyer haa to come up with a plan to scupper one of our promotion rivals. If this game was to be lost that to me would represent a high water mark beyond which his chances of taking the club forward are sinking surely ?

Just to add I am not for changing just for the hell of it? I dont dislike Bowyer hes a decent guy and has some credentials at this level. But the message seems to be waning on this group and some new impetus maybe what is needed to see us over the line come May?

I make it 2 league games without a win (before that it was 4 wins in 5) but yes 5 overall so we must improve.

December is a big month with 5 winnable games (opponent average league position 15.6). Visits to Orient and Carlisle who aren't having great seasons and home games with Newport, Salford and Mansfield. In terms of league positions this one is actually our toughest game.

I believe we'll beat Newport, they're also in poor league form and it feels yonks since the win against Exeter so hopefully there's a good crowd and atmosphere to get us going.

It's no win in 5 no matter how you dress it it.

We should be going unbeaten until now until the end of the year and winning most of the games.

However, lost to Plymouth and drew yesterday. Yes we might win on Saturday but will more than likely go to Leyton and lose with Josh Wright scoring a few.

This is way Bowyer needs to leave! He's too negative and with inconsistent results.

Hi Fordy. Remind me please. What has actually Drury done to reserve the sack?
Although I don't agree with you (yet) I can understand you wanting to get rid of Bowyer but surely as assistant/coach Drury is following instructions. Although I agree with you that we can and should be doing better we are entering December in the play off places. Jake Reeves is showing he will be our best midfielder once match fit, almost a new signing, and on yesterday's showing Taylor looks like he could be a big plus if kept on. Added to that it looks like Bowyer is looking to improve the squad in January.
I'm a glass half empty man myself (mainly because I like the taste of beer) but I try to be more positive.

Hi mate, I just feel Bowyer should of been allowed to bring his own team in. A number 2 isn't just there to coach in training it's about match day and helping the manager. I am not convinced Bowyer listens to him. He isn't good enough as a number 2 also. Also he reminds me of Edin and all that.

Reeves back after 2 years and people saying he's our best midfielder is worrying as he isn't match fit and not been around for 2 years.

You praise Taylor and Reeves for yesterday but we drew and dropped 2 points.

We're making hard work of this league.

If you like your beer then surely being 15 points clear come May would make you enjoy more beers and plenty of them. Right now we can't even enjoy beers are Bowyer is a negative manager who is making hard work of this league.

Disagree. Finish 7th and get promoted via the play offs would be deemed a successful season, after last seasons debacle

I don't care about crappy cup games, as they have no impact on the league.

At least, that's your opinion anyway, as you made clear when advising we played kids against Shrewsbury.

So, now we're on the same page, you can drop the 5 games spiel.

However, we need to win at least two or three games in a row to cement our position.

Failing that, we will need to string even more wins together later.

Either way, our form must improve.
