He won't be back, we can't afford to bring him back
    He'll stay at Swindon
I don't want to see him back

You'd prefer he stays at Swindon and enhances their promotion quest?

You really need to get over last season and realise that Doyle has always been the ultimate definition of a confidence player. In the lower leagues, he's had three good seasons and two bad moderate to poor ones. So clearly he doesn't lack effort, he lacks belief.

That confidence would have been dented when Vaughan and Donaldson were signed. You'd have to have enourmous self belief, to think you could be picked ahead of one of them, particularly after the baggage of last season

He needs to come back, even if it's only to disrupt them as they will be a key rival all season

That's then a win/win for us, in all aspects on the pitch

Imagine for a minute that instead of Doyle we were offered another striker who already scored 13 goals in our division this campaign, the message board would be in meltdown telling the club to pull out all the stops to bring him in. Then, inevitably, Rupp would be hammered for being unambitious and we'd be labelled as joke club just treading water.

Then imagine, we miss out on promotion and it's revealed we were offered this player in January with no transfer fee attached.

I can understand those comments but as a rival promotion chasing team they either pay more of his wages if not all or he returns.
He's almost single handedly fired Swindon into 5th in the league and we're paying most of his wage for the pleasure it doesn't sit right with me.

That's right Dave, you certainly don't give a promotion rival a leg up! Bring Doyle back regardless, he either plays (and scores!) for City or sits tight until the end of the season.

I thinking more about hearts and minds. There'll have been shoots of positive change in the summer but since Doyle left, theres certainly a more positive feel about things. Have we completely transformed? No - that takes time. But Bowyer will have to sell it to him someone and use a bit of spin.

There's more chance of us leaving the EU on the 31st than Doyle coming back
We can't afford his wages, they're spent elsewhere, simple economics
You might not like it, but there you go.

I disagree. If we add the money we were offering Taylor and then add it to the money we're paying for Oteh we'd only need to offload someone like Patrick in January and those 3 would probably fund similar to the percentage that Swindon are paying for his loan.

If Patrick or any of the others where to go don't you think they would be moved on already we are stuck with them till the end of their contracts.

So last day of the season both have to win to get a chance of the last promotion place, Would we be happy with both teams drawing and in the last minute Doyle fires the winner for Swindon and while they go up we stay down in this division our own player condemning us to another season in Khazi league 2

For me though, Vaughan is a much better player than Doyle.

Shouldn't the question be, why is Vaughan not scoring many? Because if he isn't, Doyle won't either.

The bottom line is as far as I am aware he was loaned to Swindon Town to simply reduce the wage bill, unless there is a numerous exodus of players in January 2020 to reduce the current wage bill, I don't see him returning anytime soon.

Dunno mate, Bowyer somehow convinced some bozos to take our deadweight in Doyle and Wright, so...

    Wait a minute ...

Hindsight is great. At the end of the summer people were really happy with our transfer dealings of getting Doyle out the door and bringing in Donaldson and Vaughan. Now Doyle is banging the goals in and we have two strikers who are struggling for goal scoring form. Got to love football.

Unless Bowyer can convince our owner that allowing league two's top scorer to carry on playing for a rival could have a bearing on our chances of promotion.
!) Let him stay at Swindon and hope he is as prolific against our other promotion chasing rivals, helping both Swindon and Bradford City.
    2) Bring him back to Valley Parade so he won't play a part in Swindon's success, Stefan covering the difference.
    3) Tell Swindon they pay more or all his wages and leave the choice to them.
