    There's no problem with that if you feel the article mirrors your view and adds to the debate. I tend not to get involved in this thread like i used to, too much points scoring going on instead of proper debate.

    All he's done is copy someone else's work, word for word, and pasted it below his own illiterate guff to give the Impression that he's written something he clearly hasn't. Trying to sound more intelligent through the writing of others is really quite sad.

    Personally, I don't come on here to read articles from The Mail or Guardian. It'll save everyone's time and prevent confusion if the source of his post was made clear.

    Just to be clear, posting opinions on here is to be encouraged and yes, posters use others ideas to help them with their own argument. We all do it and express those ideas in our own words and in our own way.

    But posting verbatim from another article in the public domain without acknowledging the author and the source of that is a breach of copyright. And that isn't allowed since it infringes the site's rules.

    Who comments on other posts isn't the issue as you well know. Two different posters have already pointed out what you have done.

    The important thing for the site is whether you have breached the site's rules or not on copyright infringement. If you have then I suggest you quickly delete the parts of your post where you have infringed copyright.

    I'm no lawyer (obviously) but would have thought that once a piece has been offered up to the internet then unless stated the originator has given up the right to exclusivity..?
    I don't know, but most of us have offered up links to newspaper reports, youtube etc....just sayin'

    Setting up links to articles etc is one thing; extracting information from another source and trying to pass it off as your own without acknowledging the source is quite different. The internet isn't a special place where copyright infringement doesn't apply.

    It happends on a daily basis, where a poster highlights a comment lets say Bowyer has made in the T&A and don't post the link.

    I never claimed it was my own artical, until you posted I think all the posters who replied were quite aware I did not write the article, I was just interested in fellow posters opinions on that particular comment.
