    All this talk of “need him off the wagebill”. Why - are we broke? Some on here were shouting me down a while back when I said we don’t have a pot to piss in. “We’ve got a 2 million budget”, “we’ve got one of the highest budgets in the league”. And that was before the McBurnie payout.

    Let’s hope we get some money from this sale, and not just a player off the wagebill.

    Not fussed about Scannell never played for us really and when he did never did enough. This Harry Pritchard lad looks a bit of a character and quite physical for a winger. Seems to have a bit of confidence in himself
    Ok hes played National League mostly at Maidenhead. But he had a decent season at Blackpool in League 1 and we are League 2.
    Ginger as well which gets him a few "Brownie points" surely ?

    Ah, I can see now why there might be some legs in this rumour. I think the ginger rule is similar to the home grown player rule in that every club must have one. With Doyle gone, we are currently in breach of this ruling so need to bring in a replacement ginger ASAP.

    A fit Scannell would walk into most sides in League Two and even League One, problem is he is never fit. Always seems to have an injury or is recovering from one and still not 100%.

    I don't think he'll be that big of a loss aslong as we get a decent replacement.

    Absolutely. That is what I was trying to say in a "tongue in cheek" type manner. As I said, I was shouted down for saying that we've not got any money.
    Totally applaud the Scannell sale if true. Underachieving and overpaid player for us. Money from his sale will be gladly welcome, plus get a few others in now his inflated salary is off the wage bill.
    Good business all round!

    Agree with all this (except the ginger part ;))

    Yes he is relatively inexperienced in league football but to step up from non-league and have a successful first season in pro football he can't be THAT bad - certainly not any worse than we have

    I take that point. We've had zero creativity all season. So in that sense, Pritchard can't be worse than what we've had. And our 'marquee' signings are generally crap anyway, so lets see. But I'd rather be signing players who generate a more positive reaction than 'meh, but can't be worse than what we have'.
