What we know that Bowyer apparently doesn't

I'm being serious, sometimes being embarrassed in front of a lot of people is hard to get over

 

Let's have him out after 2 league games and a Cup game against a well organised Championship team, I cant believe some of the comments, yes I thought we would be playing better stuff than we've seen so far but calling for his head is foolhardy IMO.

 

I was also impressed with the lads interview when we signed him. Anyway, justice was swift, because the next time he was on his arse, having just made the most basic of errors, and letting in a goal.

 

Anybody see Bowyers Interview after the match, Jesus, I hope he is more animated in the dressing room.

 

Not good enough 4 poor goals but we knew they would cause us problems, he seemed more concerned in getting players game time mentioning Akpan, O'Connel, Scannell.
He said the Preston players had given there manager a team selection problem for Saturday, he wished the same could be said of our team on the night.
I'm not sure what else he could say one of the goals from a school boy error and the 4th a wicked deflection but it was game over by the time the 4th went in.
Of course we'd prefer him talking about a good performance and a win, but I said we'd have an idea of where we were after 10 games so nothing has changed that opinon.

Agree Bronco too early - although Preston might have been well organised they had made 11 changes so it was hardly their championship team - part of their championship squad - yes.
Just shows how far we have fallen in terms of the overall quality and character of our squad.

 

Yes unfortunatly it was difficult to leep up with the game last night, bloody DAB radio, the word was DAB is the way forward better quality sound, last night proved to be not the case.
Without doubt as a club we have fallen from grace in terms of the overall quality and character of our squad I believe Bowyer can start the long road back and he can't be judged on 2 league games and a Cup game against a Championship side.
When I looked at the Preston starting 11 I didn't recognise most so wasn't suprised when Bowyer said in his post match interview they made 11 changes.
I get that Bowyer needed to give players game time to either see how they reacted or in others cases to give players who are maybe not 100% fit a run and see if there are any reactions later in the week.
Its not been the best of starts but to say the likes of the Oldham game is crucial is putting pressure on ourselves as a club, staff and fans, after Saturday we still have 43 games to play.

Hang on Dave. You state that “we knew they would cause us problems”, but then later admit you knew very little about the XI they chose to play? Which is it mate? Did you know anything about their players or not and certainly enough to know they would cause us problems?

Fact is we have a poor squad and still have no idea what our best formation and players are. Yet instead of working on this in a competitive game, he throws the likes of French and Doyle to the wolves.

He’s getting a lot of stick and calls for him to walk are growing. I have no sympathy when I see those kind of decisions being made

Not sure I get your point mate. I know Bowyer wasn’t happy with his team on Tuesday (let’s see who he leaves out on Saturday).

But you said “we knew they would cause us problems” and then followed that up with a statement that you didn’t know any of their reserves. Or are you saying Bowyer said that they would cause us problems?

And if so, he was right. But then playing a centre-back at right-back, continuing to play the likes of Devine and Anderson and sticking Doyle up top on his own, we caused ourselves as many problems as their 2nd choice team managed

 

If you've listened to the interview Bowyers says “we knew they would cause us problems” , I said I looked at the squad and didn't recognise any of the team only to hear it was a different 11 to Saturday.
The rest is something you'll have to take up with Bowyer with regards player selection.

 

He always seems to come across like a doctor delivering a terminal illness diagnosis.

 

"What's the bad news Doc?"

"You've only got 12 months to live."

"Well what's the good news?"

"Well you won't have to endure any more of Doyle, Akpan and Anderson guaranteed."
