Anyway I want the lad who played for Forest against Leeds at the weekend, just the type we need. Did anyone else notice him?

He was brilliant, tackled, and passed the ball, urged them on.

 

But not fit enough or good enough to be in the squad.

It's really bad that some of you are counting on him. It's like you haven't watched him play for for club.

 

Its even worse that you are counting him out before a ball is kicked.

Do not forget that Shay is proven in L2, and he is now working under a different manager, in a different league, with different players around him than his time before with us.

He can have another shot for me.

 

Never been a fan personally. Always said that accy had our pants down. I was just confirming that he was back in training.

 

Yeah I am ruling him out as we need better.

What's that got to do with McCartan being good enough or not?

 

He was good enough for Lincoln who got promotion from this league, I think some people still believe we are in the premier league and better than we are

 

I can't remember which away game it was last season, but I do remember seing McCartan playing well that day (in L1). He also featured regularly (sometimes from the bench) for Lincoln last season.
So on the basis of the above he's streets ahead of Doyle as a no 10/deep striker/tip of the diamond, if Bowyer persists with the current formation.
That's not to say I wouldn't prefer a better player being brought in, or a change of formation but, as things stand, McCartan is a no-brainer for the current system.

 

I think he could do a decent job for us but I'm sceptical about the whole injury issue tbh.

He's never really come across as wanting to be here and I don't think that has or will change no matter who the manager is or who he's playing with strikes me that he came for the cash.

I do think if he was at another club he'd be fit to be selected but maybe the expectation of a large crowd is too much for him.

I'd love to see him succeed but my gut feeling is we will see very little of him from now until the end of the season.

 

Bowyer said on t' wireless this afternoon that plenty of other clubs chasing same loan targets as City, so sounds like we are no nearer bringing anyone else in.

I wonder if we are still trying to bring in Harry Bunn on a permanent deal?

Nice to see you quote me again, missed you. My point was does his opinion count if he's ruling McCartan out on the back of a good contribution with a promoted league two team when he rated Josh Wright.

 

And yet rated by the same fans who rubbished Law at every opportunity and said he only went side to side. You couldn’t make this up.

I’d rather have Law in my team than Palmer all day long. When others were raving about him, I was saying I knew little of him to judge. Having now seen him, I can’t say I’ve seen anything to get excited about.

As well as shirking the challenges, his set-pieces are awful too

 

No wonder we’re struggling with Bowyer on charge. He can’t count- Bowyer has signed 12 players so far, with a contract on the table for another
