On this one, I'd rather have Palmer ........ But only if we play him at what he does best (isn't this why GB sought him ?)
Palmer is an outlet and also a prospective #10, but to see or benefit from that, we need to play him there. As I said earlier, Palmer is a good supporting MF, not a leading one.
That statement may well stink, but it also speaks volumes of how weak we are in MF at the moment. :)

As I said, I had no idea of him prior to him signing for City. Some claim to know quite a bit about him, but I can’t say the same.

I’m only going from the odd pre-season game and one appearance in the league, but he’s not looked anything like the player he’s alleged to be. I was one of those often defending Law and I’d rather him in our midfield based on what I’ve seen so far.

You say that Palmer needs to be played in his proper position. This seems to be a regular comment about players in City shirts. Not just a criticism of Bowyer, because McCall and PP did it also.

He is actually right. But in usual Fordy style he’s contradicted his own statement by not giving McCarten the same leeway.

It was definitely more than that. He used to make comments about how he'd walk into our midfield and would be good for us with decent players around him.

    A really weird love in.

Currently Josh Wright would walk into our midfield.

Don't think you understand how poor our midfield really is.

I never said Wright was good enough. What I didn't like was Wright being blamed for everything but really our team wasn't performing collectively.

McCartan just isn't good enough.. your can't dress up shi& and McCartan is sh&t.

What you say about Wright applies to McCartan.

It's these little biases that devalue your arguments, unfortunately.

Correct me if Im wrong but McCartan has not figured in the league this season so far, so your opinion of him being shi& is base on what.
McCartan has not played a league game for Bradford City for well over 12 months, when he does you might be proved correct but until then it's just another negative post from you.

No mate. When McCartan joined i thought he looked like the marshmallow man and his performances were dire.

We paid 250k for him or a vast amount of money I recall and no once his performances have been any good.

We shipped him out on loan because he was deadful and he couldn't fully get into the Lincoln team.

He is now back and he's injured.

Give up the ghost! He's sh&te- move on!

The only reason he's here is because Lincoln and others don't want him.

Playing Doyle in the 10 role when he should be nowhere near it makes some hope McCartan is the answer when in truth it just highlights how poor Bowyer is doing improving the squad over all as we need better than McCartan and our team isn't capable of playing 4-3-3.

There is almost no difference between Shay and Wright though.

Neither were wanted by the worst side in the EFL.

Why does one get a pass from you?

I at least saw McCartan play one decent game for us. Can't remember which game, but it was away.
By contrast, I never saw Wright do a single thing that gave me a reason to think he might be ok. He spent all his time wandering around in our half of the centre circle, avoiding tackles and track backs, waving his arms & pointing and making totally uncreative short sideways and backwards passes.
On the basis of my own eyes I'm much more inclined to give McCartan the benefit of the doubt than Wright.
What exactly did Wright do to make you think he'd improve our current midfield? That's a very low bar, but I don't believe he would on last season's evidence.

    Both performed poorly.

    Both weren't wanted.

The difference therefore is a loan?

You used a similar analogy to back up the signing of Anderson I seem to remember.

Bury at home when we thought he'd scored the winner in the 94 minute only for Hanson to nod the ball down for Miller (yes that Miller) to score the equaliser ?.

No what I said was and I 100% stick by it was he was playing well towards the end if the season and fully deserved his contract and the fact he us the scapegoat at the moment doesn't change that
