When are we going to come up against a press as strong as a Liverpool (Who are the best team in Europe) side this season? Absolute tosh that we can't play out from the back. Didn't do us any harm under McCall we didn't lose at home all season playing out from the back. If you have the right players and coached properly there's no issue. Why play into the other teams hands by pumping it up to their centre halves to just knock it back and have them come at us.

 

I appreciate what you say but you shouldn’t mess about with it in your own area. And next season just as last when th Midfield is crowded out and Successful teams are adaptable and can play different ways

 

I don’t think any coach who is anygood advocates passing the ball accross your own line

 

You sure? The top keepers and Centre halves are better ball players than anyone we have on our books currently. Top coaches go ballistic when they pump the ball forward aimlessly.

 

Gone are the days when defenders and goalkeepers can't play football.

 

Go tell that to pep and klopp then.

I too don't trust ANY L2 back four to piss about with the ball in their own area and get away with it.

 

I agree. English teams went through that period where they thought possession was the key and they would just keep it for the sake of it. Boring and easy to defend. The big difference with Man City is they are moving it around to create gaps and to probe. That means the opposition has to move and it tries them out. English problem of old where you copy a style due to its success but don’t get it quite right or understand it. I also think to play that style correctly needs more talented players who cost

So what? Are league 2 players not capable of making 5 yard square passes?

 

How can get compo as his initial development albeit released was at udders .

I feel you may have just answered your own question, here.
Only last season we had seasoned Championship, and L1 players who got us relegated, purely because they couldn't do just that !

We didn't get relegated because the players couldn't play out from the back.

We actually played hoof for the most part.

 

No I didn't miss last season and the hoofball employed by clown managers.
