I think it’s good for kids to be honest, if they live localish even in Leeds or whatever if they come for the first time to valley parade to watch Liverpool for every 10 there could well be 1 who will become a regular city fan in the future

Ace posting. I am completely non plussed with this argument. Why on earth do ppl care about who sits where? What colours they are wearing? This isn’t about either club, it is a charity match to raise money.

I’m sure a lot of the floaters attending will be expecting the big names

They'll be a lot of floaters next season if we struggle in div 2.

Don't think anyone is expecting big names. It's a pre season match. We don't even know if any of our new signings will play let alone who will play for Liverpool.

It's about raising funds for Darby.

What will be will be in on the game front.

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere but who's to say the City team that day won't include a few of Darby's team mates from the history makers? Not sure if that's possible with insurance issues and registrations for those players.

Yes those that follow City and Liverpool will be aware of that but of those 10k plus whom bought tickets when they went on general sale how many will be so aware?

The second most important thing is to enjoy the day. Make it a carnival atmosphere. FFS both clubs have shared experiences, I have nothing against Liverpool whatsoever, if City were playing At Anfield I would have hoped to have gone. It may well be that some neutrals or those who perhaps ‘follow’ Liverpool but do not get to matches, may see this as an opportunity to go to see more live football in the future. Make it welcoming. Unfortunately due to prior family commitments l cannot make it, but may go to Guiseley!;)

Who cares why they are coming? Whether they realise it or not, it won’t be the glory boys who won the Cup, but they will be seriously good players. In either event they have made a contribution to the MND charity, and that is the purpose of the match, job done, goal achieved.

No reason why that couldn’t happen. We always have half a down trialists playing in preseason

I don’t care. I am just correcting the statement that people are making that no one will be expecting the big names.

Block A of the Main Stand now available - and there’s 200 been sold in their already this morning.

The good news is, we can now expect a true sell-out and a crowd of around 24,350ish.

    Well played.

Can’t knock the effort for this one. Didn’t think it would sell out full but fair play.

I couldn’t care less who the people support who have got tickets. Season ticket holders had ample time to get their tickets and who knows they may become Bradford fans after this game? We need all the support we can get.

The most important thing is we’ve raised as much as possible for Darby and that’s all that matters. I couldn’t care less who wears what I’m the home end.

Liverpool are doing both Bradford City and the charity a favour.

Liverpool cancelled a potential friendly with Schalke to ensure that they played this instead. Liverpool do not usually play many, if any pre-season friendlies in Britain, apart from one against Tranmere. Liverpool make a lot more money from playing pre-season friendlies abroad than by playing friendlies over here.

To those getting their knickers in a twist about who is going to sit where for this one, can I cast your minds back to the pre season friendly against Manchester United in 1995 when the ground was full to bursting with plastic Man U fans - I felt like I was completely surrounded by them. It happens, get over it, stop being so precious about it and just be pleased the game is going to be a sellout and raise a lot of money for a great charity.

do you think if liverpool send a side made up of squad players and u23’s people will be happy with that simply because the ticket money is going to charity? there’ll be complaints from some.

yes, it’s great money is being raised for charity and good cause but some people who are claiming they’re for stephen darby wouldn’t be going if we weren’t playing liverpool.. hence my point that for the majority it’s because we are playing liverpool and the charity aspect comes a distant second.

it shouldn’t take a semi-famous footballer or any celebrity to make people care about charity and helping others.
