Oh come on it's moved on a bit. Now its; 'Before we get down to some High-impact interval training I want you to do some aerobic work by running to that tree and back you BMI challenged individuals.

 

Maybe Bowyer has seen something in Drury that he believes he can work with at no extra cost to the club, Bowyer works with Drury on a daily basis so maybe we should except what Bowyer has said in the T&A article.

 

Why would he walk he was part of the decision making. As I said we have the same amount of staff as Stuart did

 

How many coaches do we need?

 

Another case of the lack of information coming out of the club, or actions being different to words. Remember the fans forum that some ‘media’ were recently invited to? Didn’t they state that Todd leaving would not stop Bowyer bringing in his own backroom team? They made it clear that we were looking for help for Bowyer.

Yet today, Bowyer is quoted as saying “We have to cut our cloth accordingly following relegation”...! Mixed messages again.

Perhaps @Glenn Ackroyd could share some light on why we’re having a change of mind on this? Can he clarify why we are having to go with a failed coach with little experience, no assistant and no specialist fitness coach?

 

What’s with the panic? Parky only had Steve Parkin, Nick Allenby and Lee Butler unless I’m mistaken??

A 4 man coaching team sounds about right.

He didn’t even have Lee Butler in our promotion season, Duke has to do it.

Nothing out of the norm here, it’s because Drury will be his assistant that people are getting worked up. I’d rather Bowyer have brought his own in, but he has control of the budget. Maybe he thought better to bring better players in than have to pay Drury off and pay for someone else. Crazy as it is maybe he even rates Drury, who knows.

 

If you remember when Julian was brought in it was quoted on here Hopkin went through Julian and not Rahic.
I would think the situation remains the same with Rahic gone, so I'd think Gary has sat down with Julian and they have agreed Gary's budget is which is inclusive of players and coaching staff, and Gary is the one who made the decision, He said: "We have to cut our cloth accordingly following relegation. I fully understand that. At this stage we are going with what we have got."
"At this stage" might be the important bit.

 

We reached the play offs. If Bowyer had come in with Todd and Drury had gone instead this would be a non story . It’s much ado about nothing and Bowyer is OK with it

 

Who knows a cup run, or sell on fee may change our situation.

 

I agree on most of what you are saying on this, NM. However, the likes of @BradfordBanter and myself were putting any 'delay' down to July contract expiry dates, holidays etc. As @Rogered Tart says .... 'It was not expected'.

 

bowyer as manager, drury his assistant / first team coach, a new GK coach to be brought in, nicholson will be fitness coach and jenkins has been brought in from walsall as head scout.

once a new GK is installed, this setup is no different to the setup under parkinson where we had parkinson, parkin, butler, allamby and breaker or under mccall when he had kenny black, craig short and steve banks.

 

I didn’t say it was right, but it is his job so he gets to make the decision! You may well disagree and I am not entirely easy with it either but they are taking a calculated risk. It may be he will want to change his mind further down the line who knows. It is no use having a tantrum about it, we cannot alter the decision. Maybe if we can unload a few more in January who knows.

 

donate your salary to get someone in then. bowyer will have been consulted all the way through and will know what the score is, if he wasn’t ok with it he would have walked - he doesn’t seem like the chap to suffer fools. there are many sides to contract negotiations, unless you were in the room you’re guessing at everything.

 

Maybe, just maybe, Drury may come good?

I actually spoke with Steve Parkin at the End of Season dinner after the 'Wembley cup final' season about how they came together as a partnership.
He'd only spoken to Parky briefly in their career's before meeting him in a pub in Wakefield 48 Hrs prior to signing with Parky for us as his No.2.
Parkin was recommended to Parky by a 3rd party as an potential assistant manager.
They met & spoke for nearly 3 hours.
I was suprised and wrongly assumed that had a friendship prior to signing as a team for us.
