To be fair the team was playing completely sheite and looked like they had never met before. I am not saying SM didn't do a good job but clearly from Yeovil to the day he was sacked SM couldn't turn the form around or get the team playing as a unit. Regardless of why that happened the manager has to get the best from each game and that stopped happening.

If the players did that on purpose then shame on them yet that picture of the players and SM at the restaurant showed a defiant stance it would have been nice of those players in the picture to have given the same support to SM on the pitch.

There is no comparison. If Huddersfield had of lived within in their means, they'd be in League 1 with us.

Their owner supplemented them for £millions every season.

Calculated risks have got them to the PL. Something our owners aren't prepared to do.

Didn't they sort of say that when they arrived and now are being slated for not delivering on it.

We had a very bad run of form, it happens.

We should still have stuck with McCall.

What was the worst that would have happened?

Didn't Stuart walk ?, maybe we knew what the situation was in those days we knew the score with Julian & Mark they told us often enough, we run a deficit and if we don't get a Cup run we will sell one of our asset to help clear the deficit, and yes I believe the majority trusted Mark & Julian because they were Bradford City fans whether that was relevant or not.
These guys had no previous experience of running a football club, they come in changed things from the off when they told us they wouldn't "why would we we've seen how successful it has been run for the last 5/6 season" then did the opposite, Parky walks and they appoint McCall and Greg and still don't accept that they are told “I’ve had 30-odd years in the game, and you build up certain experiences. Edin wanted to bring in different things, and that’s fine. We had to find a way, find common ground. Give and take. But Edin’s not been in football. He’s certainly not been in the football business. Edin’s been a successful businessman, but running a football club is different.”
A lot of what has gone on this season is of their own doing and to be making statements that they have made mistakes and will learn sounds hollow when they were told from the beginning by professionals who been in the game as long as Stuart and Greg had and it wouldn't surprise me if Parky didn't have his say but did they take any notice.
Only one poster taking up arms I dont think he will get many supporting his vision, not yet anyway but as I say who knows what the future holds.

Fortunately it's the " I know football" half of the joint owners. Thank God for that or we would be in serious trouble Nottsy

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I recall there being very much a 50/50 split in opinion when SM was sacked. At the time it sort of seemed the right thing to do. I doubt anyone would have thought that the "very bad run of form" would continue right to the end of the season? That's not a very bad run of form IMHO.

The players really ought to take the blame for pissing up our promising league position

Oh for a Dean Hoyle Bradford City fan, to have both wealth and belief that he would get his home Town club into the Premiership, I watched them last night on the box and was willing them on, another fairy tale with a little slice of luck and a great benefactor in Dean Hoyle .

My comment is talking about the time it took us to get players in. It was something we struggled with in January but were okay with in pre season.

    I agree with you.

That's where you need strong chairmen who can carry the weight of supporter opinion.

Then again, I understand they were rolling the dice for that play off place - but if there expectations were realistic, they should have recognised we didn't have a top six budget, and had too many weak areas (particularly in defence, when at one point we had only two first team defenders available).

Lawn and Rhodes carried the burden for Parkinson in his first dreadful run, and that was longer that Stuart's - they reaped the benefits of doing so.

Being kept informed is great but what we are told has to be the truth, that's something that they have struggled with and is the cause of many of their problems.

If they'd told us this from the start and cut out all the three year plan (aspiration! ) crap, backing the manager bollocks etc, most of us would have been onside.

He could have ended up like he did last time, at least he went with some credit.

I agree stupid promises that can not be guaranteed were made. But in the early days the policy of being here for the long term and developing players was set but for whatever reason it never gets mentioned

It's been mentioned a lot, but as being incompatible with serious, immediate promotion ambitions.

The owners, still, haven't clarified that promotion is secondary to the player development strategy, but we're all beginning to see that it is.

Now they just need to follow through with their long-term ambitions for the next coach as outlined today. No, I am not interested in sacking the manager if we're just outside the play offs, and to do so in the near future would illustrate a continuing, worrying lack of leadership.

Because they've made it clear they wanted promotion.

You can't have both on this budget.

Jacob Hanson won't get you promoted.

What, I'm expecting promotion this time next year as it's year 3 of the 3 year plan for going up. FFS. I hope ssn tickets are still gonna be a £1 when we reach premiership.

agree. There were absolutely zero signs that he was going to turn things around and he has a history of not being able to do so. Getting the sack when he did was ideal for him, he leaves with some credit and he gets the benefit of the doubt. "he left us in 6th" often gets mentioned with little or no regard to the fact that were diabolical prior to his dismissal and were sliding down the table. Whether we had McCall or Grayson, I'm not sure it would have made a difference. He deserves a huge amount of credit for getting us into the playoffs in the first place but this team were never good enough for promotion and we would have ended up midtable either way.

I agree a key point about this appointment should be that all buy into it.we don’t want to get six months to a year in and we get little digs at the owners. I certainly don’t see why with some good recruitment we can’t have a good season. And I don’t thing the development squad hurts the first team squad it compliments it.
    it.
