If Mark Cullen is the standard of player we are looking to sign we are in more trouble next season

 

I think Bowyer is just doing what many managers do who are new in the job, surround himself with players he's worked with in the past and knows exactly what they brng to the club, both as a player and as an individual who is a team player and a good character within the dressing room.

 

You must rate all 3 more than me and a fair few others on here mate, if you think league 1 clubs will be eyeing them up. Non of them have played a great deal of football in the last season or two, even when they have I wouldn’t say they have shown league 1 form. Not to say with regular football and good coaching they can’t get there. But atm I think them clubs you mention will be hoping for more proven players at that level. I think all 3 will sign, I’d be shocked if they get better offers elsewhere.

 

Can I have a rational explanation why?

 

He's got a grand total of 17 goals in the last 3 combined seasons and is injury prone.

 

Injuries only in the last couple of seasons why would Bowyer sign him if he was useless he managed him.before

 

Doesn't matter when his injuries have been, he's now injury prone. And I don't think we will sign him either, he's not what bowyer wants (target man/pacey) I think he was just being respectful in that article.

Development ? The lad should be all but there, by now. Still much to learn, yes. But the very basics should really be firmly in place at this stage in his 'career'.

 

You don't need one. Do some research of his recent playing history and work it out for yourself.

 

I wouldn’t mind so much if Bowyer takes a couple of seasons to build a good young team that will eventually take us up and establish ourselves in league 1. I would rather that than build a side of older pro’s on 2 year deals that won’t either get us up or if they do aren’t good enough for league 1 and end up back down.

 

I did, and see a player who achieved the exact same feat were looking to achieve, and scored at that level.

Looks cut and dry to me.

 

It would be a gamble no doubt but, I remember a lad who played for a very successful Bradford City team who's career was stop and start, and he played well into his thirties (38/39) I believe when he finished at Grimsby, and he actually said his earlier injuries allowed him to play on as he did.

Answer is probably no. I think Bowyer will go for Cullen if we don’t get other ones we are after.

It’s poor business if we tell everyone who we are after so hopefully it stops. One praise you can give Edin reign was there was very few leaks until it was announced

quite frankly, i'd be pretty shocked if any of them got a football league offer if they leave us.
Anderson might get a league two deal - but Devine and Colville would end up in the non league pyramid if they left City.

 

So can you explain to me why getting rid of NKP makes sense? Going by your reasoning, he's been good enough to feature in a league one play off final and ultimately we'd like to be back there sooner rather than later?
