There are 46 games to be played, 3 automatic promotion places and one through the play offs. No disrespect to the other teams in league 2 but if we are already approaching the upcoming season with the feeling that it is a lost cause, there really is no hope for us.

Mate, 13k fans have brought season tickets. Shall we all ask for a refund?

Seems to me that 13k brought season tickets and 2 weeks after the deadline the club is feeding negativity.

We should be more ambitious, acting like a big club in div 2 with 13k but other clubs will be laughing at Bowyer, laughing at Bradford City. I mean not being able to pick his own backroom staff because Drury has a contract and we would have to pay him off.

The club is a joke at this moment mate. It's small time.

The 13k season ticket holders don't change the reality of cost cutting that comes with relegation does it? Just like it didn't last time.

True but like @Onside@Onside has said it's the lack of communication that's worrying.

When it's cost cutting to a degree of Bowyers backroom staff then you know the club is in trouble. It's extreme cutting.

If Mr Rupp has no intention of funding the club then he needs to leave doesn't he really.

If we can't afford to pay off Drury then it looks like we will be stuck with most of the dosh from
    last season then.

Is it? I don't remember a significant coaching staff under McCall, Taylot or Jackson.

Di you really need to be told that out belt will need to be tighter in league 2 than it was in league 1?

Exactly. This is a quote from Rhodes in the article Bronco posted above -
“In the weeks and months ahead, we will be making key appointments and putting in place a structure which will hopefully ensure we are stronger next season and beyond."
Reality is that we have actually let 2 key backroom members of staff go and don't appear to have anyone (let alone anyone better) lined up to replace them. THe way Bowyer was talking yesterday did not instil any confidence in me that he believes we will be 'stronger next season and beyond'.

Rupp and Rhodes - over to you.

Picking your own backroom staff is vital for a football manager.

    I think you're missing point.
We're talking about the basics for a professional football club not funding a massive playing budget to 'buy' promotion.
The fact we achieved nothing under SMc (first spell), Taylor and Jackson kind of underlines the point.
    Drury is a fraud.

Part of the problem is we have no credible supporters groups holding the club to account.

    Well it was.

Drury seems to be here still because he has a contract and we can't pay him off.

Bowyer clearly didn't want to lose Todd & should of been able to keep him.

Just because a club gets relegated doesn't mean that extreme cut cutting has to take place. If Rupp isn't going to back the club he needs to come out and say.

I'm no fan of Drury. I'd have every single person involved in the last 3 years driven from the club if I had my way but he has a contract and that makes him different to Todd and the other fella.

It is the basics for a football club but the basics in league two are very basic indeed. I'm willing to see who they bring in to replace Todd but it wouldn't stun me of we didn't get anybody and focused on specific fitness/goal keeping coaches.

I don't know what supporters club would do to affect the financial reality?

That's exactly why Drury is here. Same as all the crap players who haven't been released because they are still tied to us.

It wasnt the point though. The point was that league 2 coaching staffs are usually small and cheap almost by definition. Cut backs in that area were surely as expected as the inevitable cut backs in the playing squad?

    I just asked a question?

What are you seeing from Rupp in the article that is a concrete positive?

Maybe. delivering bad news is not easy but we are adults and can better deal with the reality of a smaller budget, if we are told that the owner is 100% committed and will be pulling out all the stops to make sure we have the best possible chance of survival, and the way things are going that will have to be our first priority. We also need to know how we are going to dig ourselves out of this hole because at the moment I have no idea.

There is nothing concrete we can only take Rupp at his word , he says, I take full responsibility for this, and work harder to come back from it.”
“I am fully committed to helping steer the club in the right direction and will not run away from the challenges in front of us
“We will have a real go next season - regardless of the division we are in - with a competitive budget in place to take us forward.
And yes that is what I'd expect from any owner, shame Gary Bowyer had to make his comment in yesterdays T&A about victims of circumstance.
