He will but if we pay him off he will go elsewhere and earn as well, so double bubble. If they won’t agree a reduced pay off we may as well keep them and get them cleaning the stands

    The other page...didn't see it.

Thats not my "theory" at all....i said are people going to wipe the slate clean. YOUR theory is that all these players should be berated if they don't leave?

What exactly do you want? There's no way on earth ALL of these players are leaving. Can, whoever remains, be turned into winners? All i'm saying is i'm not going turn up and boo or slag them off before we kick a ball thats all

I still think AOC could do some sort of job, although his weakness in the air may mean not a first choice centre half. We are quick to point out his failings, but he has also saved us on numerous occasions with last ditch tackles, goal line clearances and even a couple of goals. His character is still suspect though.

I'm saying that how do you turn AOC or Wright into winner? What is it that you've seen from them this season that makes you think that they could do something because I'll be honest, I've seen nothing

Why shouldn't we carry animosity against them, they were part of a team that had us relegated with out a whimper!! Do you want me to make sure I clap them super hard and show them a bit of appreciation for the 0% dedication that they've shown to our club this season. I think our season was doomed because of the antics in managers and the recruitment before the season started but that's not an excuse for some of the performances we've seen this season.

I have absolutely no interest in wiping a slate clean for somebody just because they are the club. I partially understand @Ricc@Ricc and @Fordy117@Fordy117 points about not being ambitious enough, the fact you've posted you'd give anybody from the bunch a clean slate next season is worrying.

Terrible team, terrible attitude but that's ok we'll give you a clean slate!!!

I agree with you, except the sentiment 'we will need to get behind them' - they will need to earn absolutely everything after this catastrophe of a season.

The onus is 100 % on players to perform next season.

I didn't boo or slag them off this year.

Much like the players, I just couldn't be arsed.

Think there may be bad news over Wright next season, He is on good money and a long term contract so I suspect that GB may well try improve him and integrate him in his team hoping the new signings and style suit him better and bring more out of him,

*before I start I'm not comparing Wright to any players mentioned below*

If GB can get Wright to play in a role in front of the back 4 to do a certain, basic, job then I think he 'could' be useful throughout the season. He could be a player that just goes about his job and gets on with it, without being outstanding every game - kind of like a Whalley type of player. Gets the ball and then moves it on at the start of a move and tidy's up anything inbetween midfield and defence. Possibly.

Agree @JonButterfield@JonButterfield the players are paid to entertain and the fans respond to that.

Wright is a reasonably talented player it’s his work rate that is very poor

Oh I think that is stretching it to say he is reasonably talented. I haven’t even seen a glimpse of that. I think at his best he is a bog standard LG 2 player who can pass. With limited talent like he has, he needs to work very hard. We may well have to use him, and if GB can somehow make him better fine by me.

Unfair, perhaps .......... But I liken Wright in the same way I do Danni, to Kylie (Minogue).
Some talent, but nothing to really boast about, and are enjoying their fame via their sibling achievements.
All have talent, but not enough on their own to ride the crest of the wave they have.

Sorry but you are very, very wrong.

Professional footballers are paid to play football. Their main purpose, as a group of like professional footballers, is to win games.

Their raison d'etre is not to 'entertain' . Not at all.

So in your opinion its not classed as the entertainment industry, maybe, the 4,000+ season ticket holder who have not renewed see it differently.

The point I am making is.

If we had played 'hoof' ball, had 20% possession, been absolutely dire in every game but managed to get into a play off spot we would, in the main, be very happy. We wouldn't be talking about entertainment.

    Would you disagree?

I personally would, but there we many on here saying the Parkinson era of football was not entertaining, as was the other side at times with Stuarts sides 60%+ possession but the majority of that possession was in our own half.

I would like a player in front of the back four who can head a ball and make decent tackles and then be able to distribute accurately. Wright has a lot of work to do...if he is going to be retained for that role imho.
