Did Patrick get a spot on the bench on Saturday? I can see him and Devine being shipped out before the 2 weeks is up. UNLESS we don't sign a striker of course. God help us if that's the case.

 

Ok,well he might be poor but instead of writing him off before he kicks a ball lets reserve judgement until he's had time to prove his worth either way.

I trust DH to recruit the right players but we've only signed him until the end of the season so if he doesn't perform he will be gone.

When he puts on the shirt,support and encourage him and there will be a better chance of him being a good player for us.

 

As usual, will wish him luck, lets see what he can do. Lets hope Payne stays injury free.

 

With Patrick having played for Yeovil, any game time for us would preclude a loan move elsewhere. He won't feature unless the window closes and he's still here.

 

I hope he does well for us but to be honest in the situation we are in expected better, We really need an experienced player who can drive the team out of trouble not a kid.

 

Jim Jeffries said McCall was done as a player and he wouldnt be offering him the same money. He went to Sheffield United and walked it and won promotion.

Hopkin has made some astute signings so far and most have been successful in the short term so I will trust his judgement. We are desperately short of bodies so this can only strengthen our squad.

 

On the plus side, we pipped Salford to his signature.....

I’ll review our January business as a whole when the window closes. But I’m worried. I’d thought that this kid was a ‘punt’ on a short term deal. One to just to add an extra option with us likely to go and get a quality, proven midfielder. Which is what we need. But reading Hopkin this morning, it sounds like this kid is the replacement for JOB, which concerns me.

 

This 'kid plenty of league 1 experience though.

That's how week and poor our squad is.

 

It's one of those that could turn out to be a genius move or a complete waste of time but at least it's only a deal until the end of the season at this stage, so no real harm done if it's the latter. However, if we are not able to rely on the services of Akpan week in week out, I hope we are also looking at bringing in a defensive/holding midfielder.

 

Says it all really only signed till the end of the season although that could be helpful if he turns out to be a dud I would have thought we would have been signing players capble of keeping us in L1 with an eye on a promotion push next year.
