When do we start to question Hopkin?

100% agree Onside and I wasn't sorry he left as in my view he was totally the wrong fit for us. The point I'm making is that hulim choosing to leave with no alternative job offer on the table speaks volumes

I think you can read Grayson’s words in two ways. I took it that ‘I’m a Championship manager and Bradford are lucky to have me’ was a clear message just to Rahic that he should change his strategy, have faith in Grayson and back him. Otherwise he’s off. Both Grayson and Parky have been in the game long enough to know what was coming. I’m pretty sure that we would n’t be in this position if Rahic had backed Grayson and allowed him to bring in his own players. We might not have been looking at promotion but we would n’t have been staring at relegation. But as we all know, Rahic knows best.

 

I’d have preferred McCall to be backed.

Whilst I agree generally it can't be forgotten that Hopkin said when asked about the role of head coach " I'm a head coach, it's a role I had at Livingston and I enjoy it. Being out on the training pitch is what I'm good at" ok maybe not the exact words but I'm sure someone can find the actual quote.

The point is as much as it's Edins fault we're in this mess the players couldn't actually have played any worse when he came in. But most significantly he hasn't improved one thing about the squad, not one!! We still look unfit we can't string passes together we can't defend we can't score more than 1 and most importantly he still keeps playing a system that clearly doesn't suit. He's done absolutely nothing Collins couldn't do, he's failing more than a failed u18s coach did for us. There's quite clearly no money for out of contract players, and would you trust a man who keeps putting the now 2 worst players this club has ever seen (yes worse than Darren Morgan) Brüenker & Josh Wright in the squad?

I don't see anything in Hopkin whatsoever, and if I'm honest I can't see him getting another win this season. This circus is a " where were you when" season. And it's going to go down as the worst footballing season with the worst owners worst coaches worst players in the history of our football club.

 

I sort of get where you are coming from @Goose, but he has not had a fit squad to work with. You just have to look at the wider picture, and I won’t repeat it. The players like Josh Wright for instance, are no better since he got here, how is it possible for him to continue playing in our side? I can’t imagine that Hopkin hadn’t had a word in his shell like! He is either ignoring him, or he doesn’t have the capacity, or and the skill set to compete at this level, running around is not good enough. Now let’s look at replacements that are fit? Devine? maybe? O’Brian definitely when he is fit, Akpan? You get my drift. Everywhere he turns the is choosing from a squad of players that are either not good enough, injured, or don’t have the guts to hold that position. He is trying to pick a team that can compete. Strategy is poor, but it would be the same if he picked another strategy.

When you listen to him talk, one of the overarching things he says, is we need more competition for places, that will drive standards up. If he chooses to drop Josh Wright, and I wouldn’t blame if he did, whoever comes in will be more or less the same.

 

DH is getting slammed on T&A comments, I think it's all wearing a bit thin now and pressure is seriously on him.

unpopular opinion, but i think we'd in a better position points wise if we still had Collins.

Under him we had players running around like headless chickens, bizzare team selections such as Chicksen at Centre Back,formations changing from half to half but amongst all the chaos, we managed to scrape a couple of victories. Hopkin hasn't even managed that yet.

Someone was stating Grayson stayed unemployed than work for us. But that’s only one manager who didn’t want to stay here and leave. Out of 100’s of choices. People using no one would want to come here as an excuse is poor

 

I don’t think we have much choice regarding Hoppy he has a poor squad hit by injuries and a poor back room staff. We possibly need to stick by him and hope the players do. What Stefan needs to do is get rid of Edin now before more damage is done. Not sure the legality but he needs to be shown the door. Then Julian can step in and work along side Hoppy and reporting back to Stefan who needs to be seen more. I don’t think Julian and Edin are even on the premises at the same time or seen together. Action needs to be taken immediately before it’s to late.

 

Agree entirely not a great "Hoppy" fan but can't see any alternative as it stands
Lots of problems with Stefan getting rid of Edin I think the only way is to buy him out or sorry to to mention admin if the former happens I can see him ramping up the price as he has unfinished business in seeing the dream come true which I firmly believe he thinks will happen
What gives you the impression that Julian and Edin are rarely on the premises at the same time let alone seen together I thought they were working together to get us out of the mire

Furthermore Grayson is doing quite a lot of media work. He came to us, for whatever his reasons were he didn’t fancy it and perhaps with the promise of well paid media work, he fancied that more than us. His decision.

 

Those ‘lazy’ comments about him might have some truth.
