    There is one other option.

He is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. On those grounds we should have never suspended him and so he should be playing.

This can obviously be reassessed when he he charged and the trial is over.

I find it odd that we now seem to live in a world where people are viewed as guilty without a charge or trial.

If the player doesn't want to play then he should do the honourable thing and resign.

Aye - but then there's always a Jordan Pickford somewhere who does live up to the hype.

Workplace legislation provides for disciplinary offences to be judged on the balance of probabilities, rather than beyond reasonable doubt. And interim measures before judgement can very depending on how an offence relates to dealing with the public or other work colleagues. Suspension until judgement is quite normal for cases where normal employment cannot realistically be continued due to the impact on others. You can even legally be dismissed in some instances where no offence can be proven but something has happened that makes it impossible to work with colleagues or the public (though a transfer to alternative employment with the same employer would normally be attemped first). Without knowing the details of the case, one cannot confim that the interim measure of suspension is reasonable or not but I'll bet the PFA and some lawyers have already had a pretty good look at the case and they'll have details we don't have. Such workplace disciplinary details are usually confidential and not for public consumption as most court proceedings are.

He is holding his own in the Championship and hope he succeeds - but he struggled at Wigan and Bolton at that level. The point I was making at the time, he stood out as a great player but he was playing in L1. For folk to say he would be a future England player based on that assessment was over the top.

Bilic/West Ham may have gotten it wrong over him, he could well push on and become one but he wasn't even capped at U21 level.

But he’s not doing the job he’s contacted to.
As mentioned before, I suffered an injury that prevented me from going to work. Took 6 weeks to get back on my feet, during which time I also started suffering from depression (Reeves anyone?). I was just gearing up to get back to work, when I got the dreaded text message from HR. They let me go (paid me off) because I wasn’t doing my job.
I think it would be perfectly reasonable for the club to agree to part ways, but obviously Robinson thinks differently, and the club are worried he’d make a lot of noise on the way out.
Footnote: after I was let go, I took stock of things, got my self together and started my own business and haven’t looked back since.

There is nothing new to report on the Robinson situation.

Just to confirm the current situation ....

Robinson was arrested following allegations of a serious offence
He was released by the police authorities without being charged with the offence.
The police are still investigating the allegations and it wouldn't be the first case to have been under investigation for such a long time.
The club suspended Robinson pending the outcome of those investigations.

Nothing has changed to the situation and it's been regularly aired on here. There's little to be gained from further debate on the case until new facts emerge.

There is a separate thread in General Chat on the legal processes involved ...

    https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/legal-charging-police-bail-under-investigation.2811/

where the generalities of the issues raised, but not the specifics of the Robinson case can be debated. We ask again that posters don't continue to debate the details of the Robinson case until new facts emerge.

Yep. There are loads if you care to search. One police officer was suspended for 9 years whilst under investigation first for criminal and then for disciplinary purposes. Cleared of all things.

    Nearly a year.

Dragging now. Think am I starting to agree with what @Park bantam@Park bantam said about how long it's taking.

It's not seeming fair now. I know it might be a serious thing but either charge or don't charge.

It's a very serious alleged offence. There are also duty of care issues to other employees and visitors, as well as the clubs own code of conduct to consider.

It's pretty commonplace to suspend someone pending investigation when serious offences are alleged. The club have had no other choice on this.

I don't think we'll see him in a City shirt again.

And I’ll reiterate. I only started this thread to highlight that he doesn’t seem to acknowledge us on his insta posts. Of course a debate is going to follow, because there are so many opinions, aspersions and hearsay due to the fact it’s dragging on without much update.
I’m done with this now, and will just continue to post “poop” emojis on his insta posts :D

It will not just be in the hands of the CPS, the Police will be involved, it is their investigation.
