It was, Gibb believed we could honour our commitments going forward but Julian thought otherwise.
Gordon Gibb made it common knowledge he would never deal with Bradford City as long as the Rhodes family had any input, once Julian left as part time CEO and Ryan took the job one of his first tasks was to get Gibb back onside as he allubed to in his comments with regards your land lord.

Isn't the new lease option, just a roll over of the existing one. Built in increases at a certain percentage every few years and the club maintain the stadium
I am sure i heard the club say this and the higher we go, the less impact the rent has on finances
Half a million a year, is a lot of money, when sky payments where £250k in league 2, its massive, £6 million or so in the championship its less of an issue
Gibb will not sell, unless he gets what he wants, why would he?
He has more than had his pound of flesh in my eyes after his fallout with the Rhodes family, unfortunately they are not the ones paying the price and he and his business colleges saw an opportunity and took it
Personally i think when a business goes into admin, former owners should not be allowed anywhere near again.
We can not afford to move to a new stadium, renting at another ground will cost and could alienate lots of fans, meaning reduced income
There is no easy answer here

I don't think that applies in this case Broncs. I'm sure @Dennis@Dennis or someone can confirm. Whichever type of scheme it is (I'm thinking SIPP?) it falls outside of that regulation.

You're quite right. Much of the extensive pension legislation introduced many years ago post-Maxwell doesn't apply to the FLPF. It's known as a Small Self Administered Scheme (SSAS) and is limited to no more than 11 members/beneficiaries.

I've posted about this previously ...

The important point is that the Trustees of a SSAS have enormous flexibility where their pension funds can be invested.

All very good points. The fact remains though that Gibb holds all the cards unless we push his buttons.
If the club are happy with the cost of rent then fine, stay as we are but we don’t want to ever hear the excuses from the current or future owners that the stadium rent is holding us back. If it is then now is the time to enforce change.
