I was fully expecting 3 subs at half time, not just the one

Well us fans did 100 % correct, I posted this Wednesday morning after Webster's performance at Rotherham, https://bantamtalk.com/index.php?threads/15-bradford-city-vs-burton-albion-saturday-8th-november-2025-3-00pm.9591/page-2#post-1024020
The kid Webster ran the show for Burton very impressed when I've seen him, ex- Chelsea.

I am convinced that this league is going to be so unpredictable and because of that the points totals for the top places will be the lowest for a while. Over the last 15 seasons 3rd place has averaged 86 points, I wouldn't be surprised if 86 got you top 2 at least, 2nd place has been 90 points which I certainly think would be enough for the title.
With it being this close it should give the teams who are underperforming belief that it's not all over. Bizarrely 3 of the bottom 8 of the last 5 form table are in the top 6 overall and in the top 8 of the form there are Rotherham, Wycombe, Burton, Exeter and Reading who are bottom half sides and are either in the relegation fight or looked like they were a couple of weeks ago.

I think we've more than enough in midfield if we set up properly, it's 6 if the wing backs join in. The problem was that the box midfield turned into a massive oblong with about 40 yards between the two pairs allowing the intelligent Webster the freedom of Valley Parade to operate in.

Stockports 28 points from 15 games to lead L1 is the lowest leaders tally of the third tier since 85/86. It's the 5th lowest since the 3 points for a win was introduced.

Leagues are rarely this tight, 3 points separating the top 7 after 15 games is pretty much unheard of in recent times. I reckon there's going to be some teams making some moves in Jan to try get any gap.

Frustrating game today, but thought Burton played well and belied their lowly position. Having said that we gave them a lot of encouragement in the first half when we were poor.

A much better second half but by then the damage was done and Burton had a 2 goal lead to hang onto.

We're clearly missing something at the moment (I will read the rest of the thread later to see what you're all saying).

Good to see Bobby back, but we missed Sarcevic. Swan was ill but his goals have dried up anyway. Humphreys was awful in the first half, but better in the second when I think he was moved to a slightly wider position. Will be good to have Baldwin back (don't expect to be saying that).

Lots to pick out of the game, but there was an over reaction from some fans, particularly on Radio Leeds. One guy was having a meltdown and swearing (if you can't control your language on a live radio phone in then don't bother calling).

My view is that looking at the bigger picture is that we have got off to a great start, and we are going to have a wobble at some point. We're not going to have it all our own way. GA said on the radio exactly what all the fans were saying so he knows exactly what is going on - it's not as if he's one of those managers we've had where you think "what the hell is the guy talking about".

We're a new team in the division, Burton have been in L1 for a while.

Steady heads required from everyone - we're not doing bad overall. A defeat is disappointing but let's try and enjoy the ride, even though there are going to be lean spells along the way.

Looking at the tackle again their player was nowhere near the ball when they brought humps down. Looked like a desperate lunge to me.

Pointon was completely anonymous in the first 45 minutes . Webster was man of the match for 97 minutes .

Not for me watching live Kev. I thought he applied the double jeopardy rule correctly at the time but you'll have seen it at much closer quarters than I did.

There were more than a few things that riled me today.

Why did we move Kelly away from goal kicks only to move power to his position who then passes straight to Kelly who gives the ball away when power is now out of position

Why do kavannagh and Humphreys always appear to look busy and yet are always half a yard from where they need to be?

Why are both kavannagh and Humphreys being hung out to dry in positions they aren't suited to?

It's time everyone realises cook is our only reliable forward outlet. His input in the second half changed the game, sod every bugger else

Why do we spend all the game playing stupid long chipped passes to neufville which every team knows about when we have pointon who is on his day the best player in the league but only gets balls to feet when Wright comes on with 15 mins to go

Yep agree with you. Webster was certainly MOM for me and those sat around us. If he can produce that level week in/week out, he should definitely be playing in the Championship. Certainly the quality and age would suggest he is the sort of player we should recruit, if we want to progress.

Wright is a waste of a player. Came to us as a winger and ran a people. Now he's just hes just a 2 rate sub with limited attacking potential
