Well Burton having been 2-0 up, to drawing 2-2, must be dispiriting. Having played 90 minutes tonight, then hopefully we come out of the blocks fast and get a couple of goals against them.

The kid Webster ran the show for Burton very impressed when I've seen him, ex- Chelsea.

Hopefully a good opportunity to " turn the corner " and get three points on the board.

Not a fan of the bashing Bowyer is likely to receive, always comes across as a thoroughly good bloke.

Think he was possibly harshly treated here, think he is more suited to a backs against the wall role as opposed to a win at all costs mentality like we had the time, when we were desperate for success. By hook or by Crook he had us in the play offs between christmas and new year whilst rhodes had been playing silly bollocks with the Doyle/vaughan shenanigans aswell as tapping up Mccall for a return behind Bowyers back.

Agree. He came over as a pleasant individual. He inherited a mess. Rahic had ‘gone’ a couple of months earlier and a reluctant Rhodes was the CEO. If I recall correctly it was the time of Vaughan and Doyle, and the ‘feel bad’ factor was around.

I think going into the following season there was huge belief that we would get back up ............our front 3 was the envy of the whole division but it simply never worked out :(

As much as I love your unbridled optimism, then current form suggests this is going to be a very tight game!
Over the last four games, in the Home Table, we are fourth, with two wins and two draws.
Utterly scarily, Burton over the last four Away Games, are third, also with two wins and two draws.
As I said above, I expect Burton to park the bus. We need to be able to beat a team, who doesn’t have possession and wont play a slick passing game.
This could be the ‘Somme’ of football games. A big win is the last thing I see.

Not been on here for a while, you do some times need a break for your sanity
It's been a really decent start to the season, but is mirroring last year with injuries affecting form, especially this last month.
The failure to keep clean sheets is a bit of an issue and its obvious central defenders choice 4 5 and 6 are only just up to the job
The strikers are also a bit of a worry, we are having to produce 20 chances to get 1 or 2 goals a game or even 0 like Saturday and the less said about Tyriek Wright the better, could not finish his supper.
We need to get that early goal on Saturday, to disrupt their plans, but how many times have we said that
I think it will be another frustrating afternoon, but hopefully we can stick at it and gain the victory to put us back on track
Going 2-1 to city, with late winner, but hoping for 3-0 at half time and and easy ride on the emotions.

Unbeaten in last five away games, including wins at Cardiff anmd Wimbledon. We are four league games since a win. Would be very happy with a 1-0!

We're not exactly struggling for goals mind. There's only 5 teams in the whole of the efl who have scored more than us and we are the top scorers in league 1. Not really sure why we have this fixation on the idea that we have to have one person to score all our goals.

It's recency bias I think because we've only scored once in the last 3 and not at all in the last two.

The goals will certainly come back as the injury list eases although perhaps not as fluently as they were earlier in the season as teams now are starting to work out our threats. For me it's the defence that's more worrying as we've only kept 3 clean sheets all season and I think that will likely have to improve if we're to maintain a top 6 position.

'Recency bias'. I like that. Huge in football I guess.

I know what you mean about 'teams working us out'. It's a worry. However, does that mean we will work other seasons out as the season develops. Surely it poses the same challenge for every side.

Yes we might be up there as leading scorers in the division, but the chances taken to created in the past month, is poor in my opinion.
Will Swan at Rotherham, Tyriek last Saturday in particular, both could have had hat tricks and the position would have looked even better.
Hopefully we start to convert more of the chances, then conceding the odd goal a game will not be as costly. With Baldwin, Tilt and Pennington back in that should help.
We need to stay around the top two until Jan, with hopefully good crowds to build that cash pot, when hopefully we can improve again on one or two in the squad.

According to xg we have been fairly clinical though. In fact only 6 teams have a higher actual goals to xg ratio. In other words we are 5th in terms of how many goals we score compared to chances created according to xg. I don't think attacking is a problem aea for us. Of course we miss chances but that's a feature for every single team in the league. I agree we don't look as potent as we did early season but we hopefully have players coming back from injury.

Expected to score, does not mean we will score, i expected us to win on Saturday and should have
Never liked these sort of stats to be honest
As i say hopefully the goals start to come in larger quantities, if we score 4, it does not matter if they score 3 and it makes for a great game, although clean sheets are always welcome
As has been said though, team are now finding a way to keep us out, so we need to adapt and putting long balls to Kav or Swan to compete with a six foot plus centre - half is definately not the way.

Stevenage another case of being “ worked out” . A poor Reading side had their number last night. GA sussed them well before half time in our recent fixture?

I can see tomorrow being a very frustrating watch, they will be playing so deep they might as well be sat on Charlies knee in the kop, I'm going for an annoying draw in this one.

I dunno if it's just in my head but under GA we have had a few struggles against these relegation candidate sides. I think Sutton and FGR beat us when they went down? Seem to remember Tranmere beating us once or twice in recent seasons when they were either in or just outside the bottom of L2. Harrogate was a yearly struggle, I remember a really annoying Accrington game at the end of last season when they looked like they might be caught in the scrap. Peterborough early this season when we just couldn't find the second goal to kill it off, fairly certain Rotherham were in the bottom 4 when they put 2 past us a month or two back and we had to drag ourselves into gear in the second half.
