    I paid a tenner to get a banner up for the forum and the club, that my name is even on it isn't a motivating factor, my name does not need publicity, I'm not going to make more money or become more popular.

    It was timed well for my donation as I decided not to pay 25 quid for a photo of myself.

    These are valid arguments and I accept that's how some people see football clubs.

    I look at football clubs, and Bradford City in particular, a bit differently. For me, a football club is a lot more than just a legal entity. For me it has always been about the supporters. That's why, for me, AFC Wimbledon will always be the continuation of Wimbledon FC, it's why I regard the old and new Accrington Stanley, Darlington and even Bradford (Park Avenue) as one and the same. They all carry the spirit of their past into the future.

    Legal 'owners' of football clubs should be regarded as custodians, rather than owners, and I wish that that could be enshrined in law. Nevertheless whether owner/custodian or government or Premier League or supporters, it is valid to ask who should be bailing out clubs in these current times.

    My way is to contribute. It is not necessarily the right way, it is just simply my way.

    That was the whole point in this forum was it not? Somewhere where C&B could live on after Ed's decision to close the site. That was the idea to make something very similar so people would feel comfortable and hardly notice the change. Clearly it worked.

    Coincidentally, today is the day that the domain name ran out and obviously was not renewed by Ed or Basel. Officially marking the end of Claret & Banter.

    I want to be very clear- I'm not against putting money into the club, supporting it in adversity etc. I just need to have belief in what we're doing and the intent/ambitions of the owner. And I dont. I'm desperate to believe in this club and then I'll happily spend my bit.

    Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for communicating with us over the weekend. I only had the idea on Saturday morning and by the time we agreed the process and created the donations link, it was early Saturday afternoon. So getting the final total in just over 30 hours is probably as good as it gets.
    Simon will deal with the actual mock up of the two banners. He should have sent them over already, late last night/very early this morning. We don’t think that the names include anything offensive. The Logo is our own and shouldn’t impinge on any copyright/alternative ownership. Please confirm that it is acceptable and that we are ready to proceed.
    If you send me your banking details across, I will make arrangements to transfer the money to the official club account.
    Is there anything else we need to do from this end? I guess City could invite other groups to do something similar.
    If you ever go for larger size banners, we could probably go for another one, but it would have to be different to attract members and to make it worth our while.

    His grandson is a City fan how could he not be with a guy like Chris City daft, I know McKenzie come on here when his granddad passed but don't think he's a regular poster.
    I'll have a look and see if I have any contact numbers and if so I'll tell him to keep his eyes open for his granddads user name, great gesture guys I'm sure he would have appreciated it.
