Still think we will up there despite the panic we’ve seen set in from fans. It’s a long old season.

Got plenty of options going forward now and if we keep the same back four that started the season so well, we have a good defence for this level.

A good solid keeper and what looks an ok back up.

Central midfield is a worry but at this level if we by pass it slightly and get it out wide and forward quicker, we will score enough goals with our attack in this league.

 

I expect promotion, as should everyone else.

However, I think the lack of defensive capabilities in midfield will cost us games.

If we get lucky with injuries I think we may sneak 7th.

 

I stick to what I thought at the start of the season top7. People easily forget how poor we were at the end of last season easily the worst team in league one with a huge job to do. All the relegated teams lost on Saturday and two of them have struggled Badly which shows it’s a difficult league.

I would be very disappointed not to finish in the top 7. Its now down to Bowyer. He has recruited 15 players of his own choice. He now needs to settle on a formation, please not 3-5-2, and try and get his preferred starting eleven settled. No more switching formations, chopping and changing the side, unless to cover for injuries of course.

 

Bowyer needs to stop overthinking how we can stifle our opponents and just get our players to go for it from the off, especially at home.

 

I'm going to cheat a little bit, I've already made a prediction on our final position so I won't offer another one, instead I'll offer my thoughts on where we'll be come the January transfer window.

I think come the end of December we'll be around where we are now, 10th, 11th or 12th position. Mind you this is dependent on Vaughan remaining fit for most of our games between now and then, if Vaughan suffers a long term injury and misses most of those games then things could get bad. If we go into the January transfer window knowing we are at least within reach of the playoff places then there is still hope, of course we all want us to be higher in the table than that, but I wouldn't write us off if we were mid-table come January. It was Blackpool's March and April form that lifted them into the playoffs in Bowyer's tenure there.

I expect top 7 but I think it will be close and largely dependent on injuries and what we do in January.

 

Should be finishing in the play-offs. Any less would be a let down. Get the team performing to their strengths and that should be a reasonable request.

 

I honestly don’t know. I am now watching the manager to see firstly he can find his best 11. Secondly how he sets the team up. Thirdly how he keeps players confidence on the up.

Pointless predicting whether I 'think' we'll win the play offs at this stage, but anywhere between 4-7th for me.

 

Bringing in such a high number of his own players increases the pressure of expectation on Bowyer.
Having signed Vaughan and Donaldson, not being in the playoffs has to be a failure. This is L2.
It looks like it’s gonna take him time to find his best side. Front and back we look okay. Midfield is the key. He’s recruited more than enough. I hope he knows what he’s doing. Playoff position for me.

After the first five results this season I have forecast 18 Wins 14 draws and 14 defeats . That will give us 68 points and a finish of between 7th to 12th. Don't think I will be far out.

 

Bowyer needs to stop tinkering.
Stick with a settled back four and work out (quickly) the best 6 in front of that, and we might have a chance.
The first few games have left me really concerned though.

Definitely a glass half empty feeling at the moment. The lack of urgency to fill the missing CM position will seriously hinder our ascent. I really hope I’m proven wrong but I just can’t see it

I’ve watched 6 of our 7 games this season and haven’t been convinced by a single one of them

I expect promotion.
From what I’ve seen so far we are nowhere near. Sometimes sides need to bed in and settle. Problem is Bowyer isn’t filling me with confidence due to the chopping and changing. I hope he gets a tune out of them. But needs to start soon.

 

Bowyer has gone on about wanting his own signings, well he's got a boat load of players in now.

I'll give him the next three games to sort out his best team and formation and take a view as to how it's going.

For me he needs to settle on a formation and work out the best players for it or decide who his best 11 is and sort out the formation for that. There's been too much shifting around so I feel the next three games he should settle and we should see the end of the changes to people and formations.

 

After this weeks signings I am confident that we have enough in the squad now to mount a serious challenge.

The only fly in the ointment for me is to get a settled formation and team.

Get that and we could be flying come Xmas.

 

I have no idea what fitness levels all the new signings are at. Assuming most are 85% match fit then I expect it to take around 5 more games to get what you and we all want. A settled formation and team.
